Subway — Restaurant in Gate City

I wish I could give this place 10 stars because this is THE BEST SUBWAY in the ENTIRE Tri Cities area. So why do I feel like this? I knew I hadn't ate as healthy as I should for a while. I didn't know that until I went to the doctor and got some unsettling news.

I weighed in at 262 on July 30 and my liver wasn't exactly as good as it should be. Today is October 7... on July 30 I cut out all Coke, Pepsi and Sweet Tea from everywhere. I ate an apple and banana or one of each for breakfast and some Cheerios and for lunch...….. this place.

This Subway is responsible for allowing me to eat extremely healthy and not break me up in the process.

I teach and coach basketball for the Gate City High School Blue Devil basketball team. As a coach when you go on the road, you tend you eat terribly because you eat a lot of fast food and end up eating the most unhealthiest of foods. The food is good....... trust me! Just not good for you.

For about 25 years, I have done this at Twin Springs and at Gate City. My lifestyle keeps me extremely busy and hectic and now...…………... of all the places in the world.... I do not know what I would do without the Subway in Gate City.

They have the all day Breakfast Combo where I am able to get a 6 inch honey oat with Egg White and Mozzarella Cheese and ALL the vegetables and a 20 oz vitamin water.... and now??? WITHOUT exercise and just eating right.... including eating this lunch from this Subway every single workday at school... I am now weighing in at between 245 and 248. I have walked a little here and there in the afternoons but honestly.... without the Subway in Gate City.... and the people who work there... especially the people like Devin, Mikayla, Summer and the great ball of energy manager (sorry I cant remember her name) who runs the place who make my sandwich as soon as they see me walk in the door..... I would not be where I am today. And where I am at is on the road to a way better life style of healthy living than I was three months ago. Thank you so much to this place and the great people who work there!

Y'all are the best SUBWAY...

I don't even know how to start this or what to write other than I have ate at probably 75-100 different Subways because I travel a lot and it's a universal menu that is on the healthy side of fast food. So I was passing through Gate City today and decided to stop in this Subway for a quick bite. I instantly felt a little better about it because there was a "under new management" sign right next to the door which typically means things are better than usual. Not here. I walked in and the place is pretty nice and modern looking, that's where the good times end. There were 2 young guys working and it was apparent they did not want to be there. It wasn't until the guy making my sub had to know what cheese I wanted that I even had a word spoke to me. This guy made this sub with fury in his soul is the only way I know how to describe it. He basically just took all the ingredients that was supposed to go on the sub and just slammed them haphazardly between the bread. Total words spoken during this entire transaction was 8 (I counted). Then when I got my food and sat down, literally every employee there just leaves. I'm sitting in this entire Subway alone. I could have literally just went through and took whatever I wanted because they never came back 🤣. As I left, I saw they were sitting on the sidewalk vaping and as I walked to the parking lot I got a "have a goodun" from the other guy which was shockingly friendly based on the last 20 minutes. Also, when he was making my sub, I noticed the lettuce looked like it was about a month old, but he had already put it on my sub, so I just went with it because I was starving. Fast forward til now (3 hours later), I'm laying I'm bed sick as a dog (I'm assuming it was the lettuce because I was fine up until then). I would have just been fine to chalk this up to a terrible experience and just simply not went back, but now this has turned into a health hazard, so I felt a Google review was warranted if for no other reason than a warning to others. If this is the new management, I don't even want to think...

I knew I was going to Hell the moment I unwrapped the sandwich he brought out to me. My eyes endulged on the colors of vegetables layered in Sweet Onion Teriyaki Sauce. My mouth lusted for the flavors, and my stomach envied my partner who had already begun to Eat Fresh. My sandwich was plump with banana peppers, spinach, red onions, green peppers, mayonnaise, ham, and the onion sauce, toasted lightly and topped with black olives. I had requested special care be taken in wrapping what I knew was going to be a mess of yum, and the staff made sure everything was orderly per my specifications.
