We were looking forward to trying this place due to seeing the lines and hearing how great everything was. However, we were not impressed. I had a dbl cheese burger and fries and my wife had a regular cheeseburger and fries. It was obvious the burger patties were frozen and cooked prior to serving, but these were over cooked and dry. Staff was friendly enough, but we were told we would have to add our own condiments onto our burger after ordering, which makes me question quality right up front. Cheese was apparently American cheddar, which was tasteless on the dble I had....meat was extremely bland, way overcooked, zero seasoning, and making us add our own condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo) to this patty made me regret ordering here even more. I will say the fries were good, even though they were nothing more than seasoned cuts from any frozen section of the local supermarket. So my thoughts for a dbl cheeseburger and fries with large sprite, my wife's regular cheeseburger, chocolate shake and fries...for 31.00.....no. I can get a fresher, tastier burger, at any Burger King with fries and shakes for 18.00. This place is way over rated and while it may be the only burger joint in Townsend...save your money, find a local Burger King....you won't regret it.

Today my friend and I stopped at Burger Master Drive In on Highway 73 in Townsend for a quick bite before visiting the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center across the road. Around 1 PM there was a short line, but it only took a few minutes before we placed our order at the walk-up counter, where we were greeted by a friendly cashier. I ordered the Double Cheeseburger meal with fries and an iced tea. After ordering, we were given Styrofoam cups to fill our own drinks. The iced tea came from a dispenser—not freshly brewed, but still decent. Within a few minutes our buzzer went off, and we picked up our meals from the counter. We sat outside under the open roof area. The fries were hot and well-seasoned, easily the highlight of the meal. The burger itself was good, though nothing particularly special or memorable. It filled the spot, and together with the fries and drink, it made for a satisfying roadside lunch. Overall, Burger Master is a convenient and classic drive-in stop if you’re in Townsend and need a quick, casual meal before heading into the Smokies.

I was with my family from a hike at Look Rock Tower and the kids were hungry so we took a short drive to Townsend to Burger Master. Several upgrades to the place since we last saw it. Place looks great. They have a great easy menu to where you can make a decision without feeling overwhelmed and all the food we got (patty melts, grilled cheese, corn dog nuggets, fries, onion rings, chili cheese fries and a cheeseburger) were amazing. Then to top it off we got some soft serve ice cream and the kids loved it!! The line was a bit long however so was every other location but the staff moved people along as fast as they could with very friendly personalities. Not easy keeping a smile when you are trying to make hungry people happy. The atmosphere is outside seating in a beautiful area with lots of shaded areas and a pavilion to enjoy the sounds of the Smoky Mountains. We even took a quick walk over the bridge to see the tubers in the background river. Great job to this place! if we are ever in Townsend again we know where we will take our family again. It will be...
