Peppermint Lounge — Restaurant in Genesee Charter Township

Ok, I will admit I showed up unexpectedly early on a day they evidently had some benifit planned later in the day. I had never been there before. However, I felt unwelcome, uncomfortable, and intimidated. I offered to help carry things inside; thinking they would get busy as I already was planning to leave shortly. I did have a buzz on And knew I needed to be going. Rushed to an early exit plan, the $20 I donated to the later benifit, and a $17 tip to the staff was NOT appreciated and my drink was confiscated. No one seemed concerned for my welfare. Only that I left hastily from what appeared like a private club. Comfortably appointed with a large clean venue , it was dark and unpleasant connfronted with rude and unfreindly staff. Will review again as time and the upcoming benifit may have caused issue. Had to wait between a wedding and reception so IStopped into a little dive bar called Peppermint’s in Flint and had an awesome experience! I ordered a Blue Pucker Island Punch (Malibu, Sprite, pineapple, and Fruit Punch blue pucker) and it was absolutely amazing. NO FOOD HERE- but you can certainly bringing your own the gentleman down the bar here has a big JOHN steak and onion that I am jealous of! Secretly wishing he would share, but of course they’re not offering lol

Big shout-out to Sara, the most excellent bartender-friendly, attentive, and makes the best drinks. The atmosphere here has that classic dive bar charm, but with service and drinks that go above and beyond.

This is a great place to go, these people posting bad ratings haven't been to this bar personally or are only giving out bad ratings, at least by visiting their profiles at least that's what it seems like. The family is a great family, Gus usually will by rounds when he is in a good mood.
