Frosted Elegance Custom Cakes and Confections — Restaurant in Georgetown Charter Township

After many people recommend this bakery on the Grand Rapids informed page, I paid $125 fully up front for my 8inch size custom cake. It was for my husband’s 30th birthday and Star Wars themed. The owner was nice and responsive on instagram. I sent her the design and size I’d prefered and we decided on pick up date / time. The cake was ready on time.

I understand the cake wouldn’t look exactly the same as the photo and I was fine with that, but what I wasn’t anticipating was a difference in quality. My frustrations: —The “Star Wars” lettering on the side of the cake looked printed out and just slapped on the side of the cake. The inspo photo is clearly elevated with fondant (I think?) and the lettering was cut in the shape of the letters, and not left like a plain square. The lettering I received was also very small compared to the inspo photo. — Darth Vader head paper was wrinkled and had two red fingerprints on top. They probably touched the red light saber then touched the darth vader paper, but still it did not look good and was highly disappointing. — Light sabers were very small compared to the inspo photo. They also seemed a bit lumpy and not smooth in places. — “Happy birthday Justin” in the base was not included when she originally made the cake. I asked if it was going to be added since it was in the inspo photo and they stated they did not have any icing left to write on the base in black but could do it in fondant. The writing was sloppy and didn’t look nice and clean like the inspo photo.

If I had known what my cake would look like before I paid I would have never paid $125 for this cake. I didn’t ask for any form of refund because I know the baker still spent time and materials on my cake, but I did want to share what I asked for and what I received...

I'm very happy to say that FROSTED ELEGANCE!! Help me out last minute 😊. I purchased a 3 layer cake for my best friend shower 🚿 and it was just drop dead beautiful, everyone loved the fondue and detail ❤️... Also the inside was exactly what I expected. The women that helped me she was sweet and understanding what I asked for was what I got. Not to mention this cake was needed less than a week before the event I couldn't find no one in town to do it without restriction I would recommend them to anyone and they make their cakes with care thank you...

We ordered a "Little Mermaid" themed cake for a baby shower at work and 4 dozen beach themed cupcakes for a retirement party at work too (one on tues...one on wed...super busy week lol). Amanda did such an amazing job with all our requests. The cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious 😋. The cupcakes will be devoured tomorrow and everyone is excited 😊. I highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking. ...
