For the best food and service, visit during the lunch hours (around 11:00-3:00). We recently attempted a dinner visit and were sorely disappointed in the service. For how long it took us to get our "fast" food, I was expecting some pretty amazing burgers... Nope. My burger was lopsided and half apart when I unwrapped it. I always get the Mr. Burger Burger, and it's usually my favorite fast food burger, but this lump of garbage was awful! The only redeeming factor was that delicious sauce that they put on it. The fries were old and had that odd cardboard consistency. What was really upsetting to me, though, were the bimbos behind the counter! The cashier was either a halfwit or a pothead. She just looked at me like a deer in headlights when I went up to pay, as if she had no idea what a credit card was. Furthermore, she was incredibly rude to my toddler who attempted to say 'hello' to her. She ignored him completely, and then turned to look at a coworker and roll her eyes in irritation! I was flummoxed! I know that it's not "cool" to like kids these days, but respect and good manners are important in a service job, regardless of how terrible of a person you are. If you're really just a nasty little brat, then FAKE IT. After we finished our food, I went to get a refill. We stood and waited for several minutes as there was no one manning the register. (The halfwit cashier was nowhere to be seen.) Another girl walked up. I remember her clearly because she was wearing some type of flower crown and pushing a broom. I expected her to either alert someone of the fact that there was a line of unattended people, or you know, actually do something herself. How silly of me to make such a presumption... Of course, she ignored everyone completely and then ducked behind a tiled column to gossip with the other bimbos. I stood there shaking my head as I heard them all complaining about another paying customer who had the audacity to exist and ask for anything, ever. Finally, a girl came and asked if I needed a refill. To my deepening chagrin, she instructed the halfwit cashier to attend to me. Obviously, this grueling task took up far too much brain power, as the halfwit was unable to complete it. In the middle of filling my drink, she disappeared around the corner and started giggling and gossiping with the bimbo crew again. When she did resurface, she approached me with someone else's milkshake. No, honey. Just, no. If it hadn't gotten so late, I would have stayed and issued a complaint upon the spot. Instead, I got home, got my son ready for bed, and then called to speak to the head manager. HE is the ONLY REASON that I didn't give this place 1 star. He was very polite and apologetic from the start, and immediately offered me some gift cards, which I declined. I refuse to accept gift cards when I register a complaint, because I take my complaints seriously and I don't see them as a means of exploiting anyone. He seemed to understand that I was calling with genuine disappointment and frustration, and not just attempting to get something for free. In fact, he called back a little while later and apologized again. I was very happy to see his level of concern and respect. It almost made up for the halfwit cashier! :) I hope that he does as promised and whips that team of airheads...
Read moreI must admit I was annoyed with my husband when he said he wanted to go 20 minutes out of our way to go to a place named Mr. Burger. We always eat a burger places and I was ready for something new. Little did I know his suggestion was exactly where I'd find my new favorite sandwich. Not only do they sell burgers, but they sell all day breakfast, sandwiches and an array of desserts. I love club sandwiches so I ordered to one they have on pitas bread (minus tomato) with onion rings while my husband got a bacon burger with fries. I was tempted to get a slice of pecan pie but I wasn't hungry enough.
While you do order at the counter they do have table service. It felt like we had just sat down when they delivered the food to our table. Man, best club sandwich I've ever had. I didnt think I'd love the pita but it wasn't one of the hard beige/wheat ones my mom used to buy at the store. No, it was fluffy and mmmmm so good. I am obsessed with onion rings so my tumm-tumm was pleased at how crispy and tasty they were.
If you're ever in the area Mr. Burger is definitely a place to put...
Read moreOkay, so that bacon double was AWESOME. I’ve lived in hudsonville for 10+ years & I’m super bummed that I have never stopped in here until now. Prices were reasonable to other places around the area, service was friendly & fast. That peanut butter pie though!!!! Oh my goodness, can I buy the whole pie!? I will definitely be back. Also BIG shout out to the guys bussing tables tonight, you guys were working hard & did a great job of making sure the tables were prepped & cleaned for future customers. Without even interacting with you personally, I could just see your work ethic & boys let me tell you, KEEP IT UP.
4 stars because the inside is some what outdated, some new paint & lighting would do wonders for you Mr.Burger! The service & food was great, atmosphere lacked though.
UPDATE Food was spectacular as always! The music was on, & the choice of tunes was also super enjoyable while eating. The lighting definitely seemed new, it's much more bright & way more inviting now! Also I love the old school photos in the frames. GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE,...
