Title: A Disheartening Visit to Licari's Sicilian Pizza Kitchen
My excursion to Licari's Sicilian Pizza Kitchen a couple weeks ago left me grappling with a range of disappointments that compelled me to share my experience. While the restaurant had its redeeming qualities, there were undeniable aspects that overshadowed the overall enjoyment. Hence, I’ve taken my time in crafting a proper review.
The ambiance of Licari's is warm and inviting, creating an initial sense of promise. However, as I delved into the menu, the anticipation turned into a series of numerous letdowns. The calamari, a dish I typically enjoy, was disappointingly undercooked, lacking the authenticity I had hoped for.
Service, unfortunately, didn't rise above the average. While some staff members were friendly and attentive, others seemed overwhelmed, resulting in a noticeable inconsistency. For a more enjoyable dining experience, a greater effort towards maintaining a uniform level of service is crucial.
The pizza, normally considered a highlight, failed to impress my wife and I. The crust was decent, yet the overall flavor lacked the expected Sicilian authenticity. For a restaurant that boasts about their “original” recipes, it's my sincere hope that Licari's invests more effort into refining its recipes to deliver a more genuine culinary experience.
Amidst these culinary letdowns, there is one more concern that would be a shame to leave out of this review. While I’ve never met him myself, I’ve heard rumors from numerous community members that the establishment is owned by an individual of very questionable character. Particularly from parents of teens who have previously worked at the restaurant, management cares very little of their employees and consistently display a lack of empathy and questionable ethics. Because of this, I refuse to let my own children apply to work here.
It's disheartening to think that such a bustling restaurant in our city does so little to support it’s members. A restaurant's success is often rooted in the satisfaction of both customers and employees. I encourage Licari's Sicilian Pizza Kitchen to address these concerns, fostering a positive atmosphere that reflects integrity, authenticity, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, my visit to Licari's Sicilian Pizza Kitchen left me with mixed feelings. While there are elements that show promise, the need for improvement in food quality, service, and the alleged work environment concerns cannot be overlooked. It's my hope that the management takes these constructive critiques to heart, striving for a more positive and authentic experience for both customers and...
Read moreEverything was just ok. 7-10-21 dinner 5:30pm. My previous time here was for lunch. I am a critic of restaurants, their atmosphere, food quality, service and wait staff. Exterior building appearance is very appealing. Customer Parking was wide open with 1 car in the parking lot and he was pulling out. Greeted immediately upon entering by the hostess and seat promptly. The waitress “Elizabeth”;came over within minutes and was pleasant while taking our drink order. The wait staff all seem to be very young and inexperienced. Our waitress struggled to explain all the dishes. I’m thinking the chef does not meet up with the wait staff before dinner hour to hand out que cards to the staff or explain the nightly specials or offer wine accompaniments. While waiting for drinks I was given time to review the interior. The interior is industrial with an overall cold feeling. Although labeled as a pizza place it offers supposably higher end pasta dishes. The bar area is nice and appropriate leaving the dining area with a feel more of a deli or brewery feel. If your going for pizza, this is the place but if your coming for high end pasta dishes in a comfortable Italian dinner setting this it is not. The setting doesn’t fit fine dining Italian pasta dishes. Unfortunately we came for the pasta dishes. I had the Brucatini Mussel/ Salmon pasta dish and my wife had the Penne Gamberetti. Both dishes arrived just warm. My dish presentation was not appealing to the eye. It actually looked like it was scooped out of a big pot. There were 4-5 of the 100 big cherry type tomatoes partially stewed. Roasted tomatoes would have been nice. There were 4 small mussels along 1 side and the dish was dry. Mussels are fairly inexpensive compared to most seafood so the stingy amount was disappointing and lacking of flavor. Maybe placing them around the entire dish might have helped the appeal of the overall dish. The Salmon was I’m guessing approximately 2 tablespoons crumbled throughout the pasta. The amount of Salmon was disappointing. The serving size was small or approximately 1/3 of an average Olive Garden dish. Yet the price was actually higher than almost all Olive Garden dishes. A feeling that pricing structure is based on the lack of customers rather than the quality of the dishes was evident. My wife’s dish, the Penne Gamberetti had much better presentation. Her main complaint was the dish being dry or lack of sauce. The flavors were there but with the temperature and dryness made the dis disappointing. The $76 will not be spent at this location...
Read moreAte here last night with my husband, we asked to sit out side. We both noticed the restaurant had a low cheap class about the decor and Logan roadhouse booths. Like for such a expensive menued place the outside atmosphere looks modern chic then in side it's different and doesn't fit. We noticed the very young aged staff like 17-25 the hostess were sweet but seemed low toned and shy. Once we got outside we picked our seat as she told us to do so the atmosphere felt very nice the umbrellas were constantly moving cause the wind and especially from the storm of high winds from last week it's a let's keep an eye on just in case. Our waitress was Kendall she was very nice, we got waters and a small pepperoni with sausage light on the sauce pizza. It came out at a good decent time. The pizza was ok the sausage was spicy, we literally could have gotten a tastier pizza at little caesars. So I was extremely disappointed and knew if we didn't like it we definitely wouldn't be coming back. I talked my husband into coming back to try some pasta so we'll see. So the flavor was blah not for us which is OK. Our waitress after leaving our food for us she leaves and doesn't return for a how's the food or water refill nothing so sitting and waiting for 15-20 mins no sign of her. So as we see customers are arriving to the restaurant and we think she's getting more tables inside she forgot about us, great! We had 2 pieces left and wanted a box with a check. So she finally comes out shows us the dessert menu and we're like no thanks can we just have a box and the check still didn't ask on food or refill water nothing not to mention she has a medical boot on her right leg and walks with slow caution. Don't have an employee that could be a hazard to others incase of emergency or being slow to serve customers in a timely manner. As a business owner it's only reflecting on her tip which it did and our excitement of coming back but we'll see. We paid cash and left with such an...
