Alessio's Restaurant & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Georgia

We really WANT to love this local restaurant, but we’ve consistently had poor service and will instead be eating with other local pizza spots in the future.

The good: Great lunch specials and food is usually delicious! Partners with our community and neighborhood.

The bad: We’ve never had great service inside the restaurant in the two years + we’ve lived here. Tonight we waited about 10 minutes at our table for service before our server greeted us. The hostess didn’t give us a menu, and we had to ask for one. I ordered a drink special that was on the board, a popular beverage, and the server had no idea what it was, coming back to ask me several times what it was. We ordered the meats pizza, she confirmed we wanted the Manhattan, and we asked for extra ingredients To be added (half jalapeño and half pineapple at a cost of like 3.99 each, I think). When the pizza finally came out an hour later, it had no meat on it at all. We had to ask for plates and silverware and napkins when the appetizers came out, too. The server attempted to correct the poor service by comping the drinks (which we had to order because the water tasted horrible, though that may not have been their fault). No manager...

It's getting 1 star so I can rate it, but really does not deserve any stars. I love Alessios and come here all the time with family and friends, but this was a terrible experience. I ordered delivery online and waited almost 2 hours until calling and told the food was still there. While on the phone, I was told the delivery person was walking in and the food would be here shortly. I waited about 15 more minutes before going to Alessios myself. The food was still there and I asked for it to be remade as it was now old, because it had been sitting there for over an hour waiting for the delivery person. I was told no and it was on top of the oven so it was still warm. I explained it was not the temperature that concerned me, but it was old. I was still told no they would not remake it. I asked for a refund of the delivery fees and tip that I paid online and was also told no to that because it was a separate company that does the delivery and I could look up their number to contact them and ask for a refund. I was still asking about the food and was then ignored and the server went on to help the next person. Very poor service tonight and the food was hard...

Ive gone several times, on average Id rate it a 4. Normally things are great and pizza is good. The last time was a bit icky, my water had food in it, i asked for another and got it. Got stale beer (aka not really carbonated), and when it was delivered some of it spilled on my feet and the table. Enough for like 7 napkins to clean up myself. Eitherway i tipped 15 percent and just figured it was a series of unfortunate events.

UPDATED: I appreciate the response from the owner, I'll knock it up to 4 stars. I normally don't do reviews on here, Google magically asked me what I thought of it that day; hence the review.

Regarding the drink, it may seem like the waiter just didn't notice. He was carrying 4 drinks and struggling to make it to the table before it slipped out.

Regarding the food in the drink, it seemed fresh. Like it accidentally fell into it when it was getting made. It was literally a piece of lettuce. It wasn't a dirty cup.
