Want an AMAZING dining experience? COME HERE!!!
When we first saw this restaurant open, we noticed that there was hardly any seating available. It was ALWAYS crowded.
From peeking in (from outside) it is a total transformation from what it was. The walls have different colored wood pallets and the lighting brings such a warm glow that is makes anyone feel right at home. The tables and chairs match with everything, along with a nice "farm" decor.
On a whim, we tried again to get in. Yep! Just our luck, a large family was leaving!
We finally took the first chance to grab a seat when we were greeted politely by our hostess. It already felt like a home away from home!
We were quickly seated and served. I really like how they served the drinks in Mason jars. I thought it was a cute look. I had iced tea and it was good. It was not that processed stuff but it was homemade.
We ordered the Baravian pretzel. This pretzel is HUGE. It hangs on a hook and comes with a beer cheese sauce and a spicy mustard that is SO good!! So it is worth the money!! The pretzel is enough for two people to share and not feel cheated of not having enough. It is very filling. The pretzel is perfect!! It has a light crunchy outer layer. As soon as you get past the thin crunchy layer, you get the soft inner dough of the pretzel. It's almost like biting into a dream pretzel and you want to say , "Where have you been all my life?"
Next we ordered the catch 22 burger and fries. Boy. The serving size is just right! The meat in the burger is juicy and was meaty because the patty itself was not thin. There was a unique bun that was on the burger (Maybe brioche) that really brought it home. It held the burger together and it did not "drip" like some burgers.
Lastly we had the dream dessert. It was the chocolate chip skillet with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. First off, you have to share this. It's too big for one person. The cookie was so gooey and full of yumminess (if that's a word) and is just right with the ice cream melting. I of course started in the middle so if your sharing, make sure you get some of the middle part.
If you are looking for a high class dining experience with family (or a date) with a Buckhead feel, you MUST come to this restaurant. It is worth it and I cannot wait to go...
Read moreOn Friday 9/13 my husband I went to eat dinner at Catch 22 and arrived around 6:30pm. The restaurant was crowded which we expected on a Friday. We were told by the young lady hostess (there were 2) that we'd have a 20 - 30 min wait max. I asked if she needed my telephone number and she said no and that she knew who we were. We went to the bar and ordered drinks. The bartender was very friendly and had good knowledge of the wines available. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes we decided to take two seats that had opened at the bar. We asked the bartender to place an order for the potato skins. We then waited and waited and waited... and watched people eat and go that had come in after us. We watched the hostesses ask nearly everyone at the bar if we were "Tracy" or "Sharon" or whoever... Poor girls didn't remember anyone and the cycle restarted every time a table came available. We decided to place our dinner order as we were getting concerned about time. He had forgotten to put our appetizer in and we watched as he entered it with our entrees. The restaurant was very busy and he was handling all drinks and those seated at the bar by himself. We continued to wait and asked several times for the status of our order. We were on the verge of leaving when the potato skins came out. The wait then continued and as we asked for our check our dinner entrees came out. Again, many others had come and gone during this time. I had the recommended Blackened Mahi and my husband had the fried chicken. When the food arrived the bartender apologized for the delay and said he should have mentioned the chicken took longer. My Mahi was in inedible as the blackened spices were so thick making it incredibly salty. The brussel sprouts were great though. I did not send it back as we had already been there for nearly 2 hours and needed to leave. The bartender didn't ask us how our meal was until after we had gotten the check and paid the bill. He then noticed that my fish was nearly untouched and I told him why. He offered an apology. My husband said his meal was...
Read moreWe are so glad we found this spot! Food was delicious! I got the chicken sandwich and it was so big it needed a second bun! Others got the peanut butter and jelly burger and they said it was amazing as well. Large portions, I had to take half my food to go. Fries and onion rings were tasty as well! We will definitely be coming back.
UPDATE - we came back and the menu changed. Good and bad, good because they now have a chicken sandwich where the chicken was not marinated in buffalo sauce, it was great!. Bad because we miss the peanut butter and jelly burger, but still amazing food. Ahi tuna stack was great. Also I really appreciate their homemade ranch for dipping fries. And another update, they now give you more cheese when ordering the pretzel, before you would run out halfway through your pretzel. Fish and chips are AMAZING!
Second upate - now the B & B tavern. We love this place and Butcher and Bottle, BUT the food quality has slipped a bit. The past 2 times we came our sides have been cold. Mashed potatoes, sweet potato fries and grits were barely room temp, we didnt want to complain but I wanted my review to reflect this. Everyone's sides, this was once at lunch and once at a slammed dinner time. Step it up a bit on the temp of the sides. Other than that, the food is killer!
Third Update- They went from 5 stars to 3. Started off with mozzarella sticks, which were really good and fresh! We ordered the swiss mushroom burger and mac and cheese, which the mac was delicious, the burger was okay, but has zero seasoning. Also ordered the country fried chicken, but asked for it grilled. They still gave me fried, which not ideal, but I still ate it and it was pretty good, but again lacking seasoning. And for the 3rd time in a row all of our sides were cold. They must have the sides in a warming table, not sure if it is broke, they didnt turn it up enough or what is going on. They need to step up the seasoning and make sure peoples food is hot when served. I think we will be back, but if the food is cold again we...
