This is a hidden gem tucked into a small storefront in an easy to overlook shopping center. The food, Italian and eastern European, is great. My wife had the chicken Marsala; I had the goulash. Both were fantastic. The owner, Connie, who also has the consignment store next door, makes all the food to order. And she's a wonderfully engaging host. Prices are in the $12-$15 range. It's an extra $2.50 for the salad -- a very good salad. There are maybe 20-25 seats, but even if the place isn't busy, expect a bit of a wait. She doesn't have regular waitstaff or kitchen help. (Having spent more than a few years working the back of the house, I don't know how she does it.) And if you don't like eclectic, this isn't your place. But if you like good, authentic food, this IS your place. Much of the menu is fixed, with a half-dozen or so Italian dishes. Call ahead for what eastern European dishes she's making that night -- or just come and be surprised. And order the salad -- it'll give you some time to gnosh and chat while Connie makes that great...

We were visiting the area to go biking, as we do twice a year. Many places are closed Monday as we sought out a place to eat. We stumbled onto Casa Bella looking at Google and called. The reservation time was close to closing, but on the phone she wasn't worried about closing. She was focused on ensuring the garlic knots would be ready by the time we got there. And with a smile they stayed open until we finished (over 90 minutes after closing time). We had plenty of excellent food and pleasant chatting with the wife and husband team throughout our meal. The owner/chef/server and her husband ensured we had good food, but also a good time. Oh, and we were a group of 12 people too.
It was like visiting family late, where they made food and chatted so you felt welcomed and at ease. So if you want an enjoyable experience with your meal, this is the place to go. I plan on...
Read moreWe ate here on a rainy, cool night in late Sept. 2020. I had stuffed cabbage. My husband had pasta Bolognese. Both were very good. We wanted to try something different than Brother’s, Sundance Grill, Enrico’s & Nocturnal Brewery w/out driving to Murphy or Blairsville. We will come back to Casa Bella & I will bring a bottle of wine. I didn’t read up beforehand that this restaurant doesn’t serve beer or wine. One reviewer posted that the entree prices are high. Compared to other restaurants in the area, I think prices are on par & the serving sizes are generous. When the temperature drops a few degrees colder, I will order the Hungarian stew. It’s very good Eastern European cuisine & a cozy little place to enjoy eating out when you don’t want to fuss with making dinner yourself. Calling ahead to make a...
