Travelling home on a holiday Sunday everything was crowded around the interstate. I Googled where the locals eat and this place fought my eye. I called to see if they were yet crowded but was told we wouldn't have much of a wait. It is off the main thoroughfare by a few miles and our companions were in 2 other vehicles thought it was an April Fools prank! ! Arrived and only had to wait 20 minutes as they already had several larger groups that had reserved tables or we would have been seated immediately. We had ample room at our table for such a small establishment the only thing that lacked was highchairs, but not everyone comes rolling with twins on a busy Sunday. Three of us ordered the fried chicken it was cooked to order, but it only took a little over 15 minutes to get our food. The food tasted good, the meat was juicy and tender, awesome crust on the chicken, veggies were seasoned without going too far. Everyone one from the person who greeted us to the servers and staff were all very friendly and efficient in their attention to us. I would go 4.5 stars but the app doesn't allow me to do that. ...
Read moreWhen we walked in around 11 o'clock there was a customer seated at the counter and a couple at one other table. A short while later more people began to come in. We waited 45 minutes for three breakfast dishes and we weren't check in on once. No coffee top off. No explanation on what's taking so long with our order. No food was coming out of the kitchen for ANYBODY in that 45 minutes. I was charged for a bowl of gravy that the menu said was included in the price of my breakfast platter. My over medium eggs were over easy at best. The yolks were completely runny. The homemade sausage was two dry patties. A plate of two eggs sunny side up came out with the egg white still translucent which to me is raw. The server told me that's how sunny side up is. I've never had runny egg whites served to me before. He took them and put them under the heat lamp for a few minutes??? What did that do? They were still translucent when he brought them back. A vegetable omelette was sitting in a pool of water and oil. Being new to the area we were excited to try a 30yr tradition. We will...
Read moreSTAY AWAY!!! I can't even comment on the food as we were never served. Arrived at the restaurant and there was a table with 4 people and another with 2. When we walked in one table was getting their food delivered and the other table was immediately afterward and yet we still sat in our booth for 34 minutes without receiving menus or having our drink order taken. The waitress came by and said once she brought out the other tables food she would be right with us. But instead she walked over and talked to a gentleman who walked in behind us and he wasn't even ordering food. Then when we tried to get her attention she said she would be getting the manager to help us. When she finally came to the table we were so frustrated about her nonchalant attitude that we decided to go to IHOP instead. Please stay away from this place. As much as I enjoy having a local restaurant and not a chain to serve the community the SERVE is definitely lacking in this...
