Flako's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Georgia

Not a great experience but there was a reason... I'm probably going to give it another try because I have friends who say that our recent experience (my first experience) eating here, isn't normal for Flako's. The service was friendly but very slow...very. We hadn't seen our server for a while after we ordered so I went to the front desk to find out if there was some kind of problem. I was told that the kitchen was understaffed. That's understandable but that doesn't account for our server not refilling drinks, remembering napkins, utensils, and explaining the long wait to us. She was very nice but distracted. Understandable, but if that bothers you too much, beware.

When we finally got our order, our food was cold and mine was undercooked. No, I didn't complain but I am posting this review because if you are planning on going to this restaurant right now, be aware that if you have a long wait it might be because of a lack of staff. Let me mention that one of my friend's food was hot and she said it was very good. My son absolutely loved the kids cheese quesadilla meal. Another of my friend's food was not that great but she's eaten there several times and said that this experience wasn't normal for Flako's. She assured me that on the regular, Flako's is wonderful. That's why I'm probably going to give it another try and update this review. Just be aware of the potential wait.

Other aspects of the restaurant... Cleanliness...on point! Decor....nice! Menu items (choices).... wonderful! Prices .... reasonable! Location....easy access! Parking... good!

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would. WORST experience and most UNPROFESSIONAL ownership. I don’t usually review places, but I felt compelled to do so today. I hope the owner doesn’t treat his employees the same way we were treated today. Our waitress only came to check on us maybe one time, and at that point I had only taken 1-2 sips of my drink, and it did not taste good at all. We had asked if there was any way we could trade it for something else because something just didn’t taste right about it. They said we could and asked what we wanted instead, as they took the full drink back with them. When we went to pay, we were confused they were charging us for both because of our previous conversation. I was taken aback whenever the owner came to the front and started raising his voice at my mother and myself and began to belittle us. I can understand charging for both and would have gladly paid for both had they not told us they would trade it nor had they not taken the drink back (completely full). We had to wait 30 minutes just for a drink, and finally a bust boy got us some. Then the waitress, cecy, didn’t come check on us for well over an hour and even then still didn’t have any food. And when we asked for a manager she just kept walking past are table and we sat there for 20 minutes and no manager. Asked the bust boy for a to go drink because she wouldn’t come back and she stopped him and said “I’ll take care it” and started laughing. No offense but I don’t trust that when you won’t even come back to my table when I asked for a manger. I left there at 7:40, arrival time was 4:59. Ridiculous! Also, if you get a chimichanga(chicken) and ask for it to be chicken and shrimp they will only give you 2 pieces of super small shrimp and charge you $2 for them, and then when I asked cecy if it only came with 2 small pieces she rolled her eyes and said “well that’s how they make it so I don’t know”. Makes no sense. Would of liked to talked to a manager, but like I said she never got them. I believe if had a different waitress it would have went alot better.
