J & L Wild West Barbeque — Restaurant in Georgia

I’ve been told by some locals that Wild West bbq is great and told by others that it’s terrible. When I first moved 5 minutes down the road I tried this place to feed everyone that helped me move here. This was roughly 2 and half years ago. The pork was dry and unseasoned. The bbq sauce tasted like something you’d get at the store. So after that experience, I never touched it again. Today, during my lunch break on my way back to work, I figured I’d give it another go. They have improved! I got the pork plate with coleslaw and Mac and cheese. The pork was tender and juicy with a ton of smoky seasoned flavor. The Mac and cheese felt like it was made with love. The coleslaw was fresh. The bbq sauce had a great taste to it. Not to mention it was only $10 with about a pound or so of meat, 2 sauces, 2 pieces of bread, and about 4oz of both Mac and cheese and coleslaw. This place was amazing today. Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting with that perfect rustic BBQ charm. The food was outstanding—everything was flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. The service was just as impressive; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We stopped by on a whim to get lunch. We wish we would have saved our money. If I could give zero stars for food, I would. The brisket was so tough my husband couldn't even chew it, and the pork had zero flavor. The Diet Coke was super flat, but they did let me change it out for a bottled drink. The fries were greasy.
