I was driving up 95 North between Florida and Georgia and needed something to eat. Pulled up Google Maps and saw this spot. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a shot.
The staff greeted me as soon as I walked in and were super helpful with my order—gave me tips on how to get the most food for my money. I went with the catfish nuggets, shrimp, fries, and added a slice of red velvet cake.
Now, about that cake… definitely looked like it came from an outside vendor. I was hoping for homemade, but it had more of that grocery-store bakery vibe. Not terrible, but it reminded me of those last slices of cake left over at a family gathering or funeral.
The food though? Worth it. The wait time was fine, and they packed me a full tray of hot food. The catfish actually tasted like catfish—light on the seasoning, but nothing a little hot sauce couldn’t fix. Shrimp and fries were on point. Honestly, it was enough to feed two people, and for about $20 including the cake, I wasn’t mad at it.
Would I go back? Yeah, I would. (Sorry, no pics—I was starving and still...
Read moreI have been living here for a little over a year and had been dying for an fried oyster po boy. Mind you I've only looked around for one during my lunch hour but so far only one other restaurant in my area offered any according to Google and I tried it and it was the worst I've ever had. I won't go into detail, I've already rated them on here because of it. I wasn't even aware of Mr Snappers but I am doing a job close by and eating options are fast food and others more expensive than I want to spend for lunch but I just so happened to spot Mr S. Next to a convenience store. It's a small intimate restaurant which I love. Anyhow I saw they had a po boy and had to try it. It was amazing! And very filling, I didn't even get to the fries that come with it because the sandwich is so big, I was in heaven. I recently went back and got the Philly which was delicious and huge. For a small place they have a large menu and I look forward to trying more but I believe my next trip will be for another fried...
Read moreMy husband and I stopped at the gas station on our way to Florida from Tennessee when we smelled the deliciousness coming from Mr. Snapper's. We decided to give it a try even though I'm somewhat picky on my seafood. And boy we're we not disappointed! We split the catfish and shrimp dinner with fries coleslaw and the strawberry banana pudding and strawberry cheesecake. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious! The shrimp was probably the best shrimp I have EVER had in my life! The catfish was especially delicious and the tater sauce had to be homemade! It was a treat in itself! The fries were the least favorite thing for us and yet they were still amazing. I was surprised to find even the coleslaw tasted fresh and homemade, perfectly balanced in all its ingredients. The desserts were nothing short of heaven for us on this disastrous trip. I can't wait to head back to Tennessee just so we can stop again at Mr. Snapper's. Thank you for a wonderful...
