Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Georgia

This place is dirty and has nasty people who work there. They clean the dinning room, take orders handling money and touch our food without washing their hands. Our burgers were cooked and sitting in a bag for 30 minutes waiting for someone to come make the French fries and onion rings. Two men before me were watching as I was waiting for their food. One of the men told a waitress he wanted his onion rings well done. She took them from his hand and literally threw them back in the frier where other onion rings were now cooking. The man manager once again pulled the onion rings up and handed them to the man, once again he explained he wanted them well done.. After he ate 2 or three out of the box, the manager took them from him and I watched him put them In my bag.. then the French fries were finally done, he gave me 2.. i explained that i ordered 2 extra fries and paid for them. He said i didnt, but the girl who took my order stood up for me and said , yes she did and had to show him the ticket on the bag.. once i got my order, (2 TRIPLE $4.00 meals) i opened the burger to find that one of the hamburger patties was half gone. It looked like it fell apart and he just put it on the sandwich anyway.. I showed this man manager and he said that's just the way it is cause they smash the burger while cooking. I told him it looks like someone took a big bite out of it and the other parties didnt look like that. I also told him about the girls handling money, cleaning and touching food, his answer to me was if I didnt like it to call the number on the bag.. the only reason I gave this a star at all was because of the young girl named Maleeka W, who took my order and stood up to the manager about my order. She was very friendly and even apologized to me for the other nasty waitresses who had attitude issues and clearly were not trained on sanitation. I pray for Maleeka that she will find a good job somewhere else and not have to work in such a nasty place. She has wonderful customer service skills and more so, she is an honest human being who stands up for what's right. I do not recommend this place for a dog to eat at.. let alone truck drivers who have very limited choices on when and where they can eat. That manager is horrible and does not deserve to have that title.. those workers need a leader to teach them the correct way to handle food...

The only redeeming things about this place was the flavor of the burgers, the shakes and Nicky (sp). I always try to find the positive and highlight that, as evidenced by my reviews, however this place needs a total employee attitude and customer experience overhaul. To anyone eating here, the food is good and delicious. I had the Royale and everything came out great. The Outrageous milkshake that was suggested was also delicious. Here's where my issues lie: at lunch there was three of us and it took over 20 minutes to get acknowledged and 40 minutes to get our food and after observing why, it looked like everyone was passing off their tables to our waitress. While everyone else was just on doing whatever they wanted. She did an amazing job keeping up and never failed to have a smile on her face. At check out the cashier with the shaved sides took forever with the guy in front of me because she was busy with a friend getting what appeared to be a " complimentary" shake. I only realized it wasn't a customer when she asked for the car keys. She then left again to get them leaving me standing there waiting to pay. I could have walked off at any time at this point and no one would have noticed. At dinner we came back, since I was stuck here, and decided to give it another chance since it was later, we were sat after standing up front for over 10 minutes, we asked for a table and we're quickly sassed back with " not over in that area, that's another waitress and I'm not cleaning up another waitresses table" .. to that waitress... A table that you work becomes your table since you make tip off it. I hope y'all get it together I eat out for breakfast, lunch and dinner 25/30 days a month and would love to include y'all in the rotation but sadly after this location I don't think...

I give this place 2 stars based majority on the service. You come in, 3 people look at you and with an eye roll decide who is going to do the chore of seating their guests. Finally seated and we go ahead and order food and drinks as we know how slow any typical steak and shake is, get drinks about 5 min later. The waitress looks like she just lost her best friend, God forbid she crack a small smile, Smirk, anything.. In the meanwhile waiting on food, sevreal individuals coming in and out of the restaurant going behind the counter in regular street clothes grabbing cups, and carrying on, assuming they work there and are off duty,, but very shady seeming for sure. Surprisingly the food was pretty decent. They brought out 3 out of 4 of our plates of food,, apparently losing the ticket to our 4th order and having to retake the order. We were all halfway done before our 4th person got their food.. overall food was good, service is lousy as always. It's a shame because I love their food but there is never a time where I go to steak and shake and am thrilled with my experience. I don't honestly see how this chain stays in business with their service. Best of luck if this keeps up in...
