I am an aficionado of breakfast. I eat it out four or more times per week. This place offers an excellent breakfast at a reasonable price.

On a recent visit my three friends ordered omelets. Two made special requests which the kitchen gladly accommodated . All were excellent and filled large amounts of ingredients. No one went away hungry.

I ordered country fried steak with two over medium and grits. The steak was served with a brown sausage gravy that I thought could have used a little more flavor but overall it was good. I'd order it again and recommend it to others. The egg whites were cooked but the yolks were runny, as they were supposed to be. In many places over medium eggs arrive with over cooked yolks. I felt the grits were a little under cooked, and, well, gritty. Personally, I like mine thick and creamy. Not a deal-breaker though.

Our server was friendly, accommodating and attentive. She served one omelet, returned to the kitchen, returned with two more a few moments later, returned to the kitchen and brought the steak a few moments after that. We wondered if this was because there was only one cook in the kitchen and the server was bringing food as soon as it appeared in the window, thus not requiring it to sit under the heat for any length of time.

Nevertheless, our breakfasts were good and we plan on...

Thank you for accommodating our large family group with no warning. Y'all were excellent and we very much enjoyed our meals. ❤️🐼

Our first experience here was so good that we came back. The dining room had two tables sat already, we got our drinks (the tea wasn't good), and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Our server came through the DR multiple times. After 30 min, she came back to the table, and told us she forgot we were there. I wanted to leave, but we stayed.

Came back yesterday. Three tables were sat. We got our drinks (3 drinks--the Coke was mostly syrup), and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally, a different server took our order and apologized for the kitchen being busy.

Before our order was taken, a party of two came in and the server had them seated, drinks in hand, and order taken in four minutes.

The place was just as busy as it was when we walked in.

Maybe it's because we look a certain way? Maybe the servers are that ditzy? Idk, but only one man in the whole place ever makes us feel welcome, and I'll go to McDonald's before I come back. I don't think the problem is that you're short-handed. I think the problem is that the servers that you have don't care.

I hate this bc I wanted to love your restaurant. I am changing my 5 star ratings...

As always I rate places based on their status and this is a Mom & Pop establishment.

First is the atmosphere. The inside and outside was really clean! I did not go to the restrooms so I cannot speak to that. I did take off 1 star as there were random things out, like in the pic of the bar, but nothing too drastic. Would have only taken a 1/2 but that's not an option here.

The food was extremely fresh! The portions were great, minus the turkey sausage, and everything was brought out really quick. Took off 1 star, again would have only done a 1/2, for the fact that my pancake was lukewarm on the verge of cold and I did not like the grits at all. I believe that they just didn't time bringing the pancake well and I'm not a grit connoisseur so maybe someone likes them. Lastly, I liked the fact that the veggies were fresh and not heavily seasoned. Side note, I believe the pancakes are box pancakes but they were made well.

The staff were really quick, attentive, and efficient. He noticed I stopped looking at my menu and came directly over to take my order. I believe it was only him and the lady in the back cook and my food still came out extremely fast.

All in all I feel it is a great place to try and has exceptional quantity and pricing for an...

absolutely fantastic local restaurant! the breakfast is here is pretty untouchable in terms of quality, flavor, and price. my wife and i love this place. she gets the western omelet which is FULL of delicious ham, peppers, onions, and cheese. the cooks always put just the right amount of ingredients, the omlet itself is super fluffy, and comes with hashbrowns. my all time go-to is are the ham egg and cheese biscuits. i csnt express enough how delicious the biscuits are here. always buttery and soft, with just the right amount of crispy outside to make them flakey and perfect. the ham egg and cheese are always perfectly portioned and make for the perfect morning biscuit sandwich. lastly and certainly MY favorite item on the menu is the fried green tomato and pimento cheese biscuits. yall, its a southern delight that is unmatched. the soft biscuit paired with a crispy fried green tomato and topped with melty AMAZING pimento cheese. THE BEST item on the menu if you dig the down home southern charm. cant say enough great things about this place. another standout menu item is the gyro omelet with gyro meat and fetta cheese. the skillets are amazing too. i could go on forever about this place, but ill suffice to say, ya gotta check this place out, you wont be disappointed 👌

As others have said, Windy City Grill is a hidden gem. Finding a good brunch spot that uses quality ingredients and doesn't cost an arm and a leg can be a challenge, but WCG checks all the boxes of a traditional diner: friendly owners and employees, a wide selection of breakfast and lunch options, quality dishes that are home made with quality ingredients, and all at an affordable price. Today I had the combo #3 (pictured below) and, as always, everything came out looking picture perfect and tasted even better. The blueberry pancakes, prepared by co-owner Maliha, are the best pancakes I've ever had. My server Kayla was very attentive and made sure I had all the condiments I needed as well as asking if I would like a drink to go. This is a small family owned establishment and you can feel that as soon as you walk in the doors. In the recent months they have had to increase some of their prices due to inflation and food costs but it's worth every penny. I will say that of you intend to bring a large group to CALL AHEAD. Typically there are only 1 or 2 employees working the floor so on busy days you can expect a small wait but the food and service will overshadow the 10-15 minutes you have to wait to enjoy a delicious meal.
