Last few visits have been quite disappointing...Normally I'd get the California Burrito with a side of rice and beans. Tonight it's served on a paper plate. The cheese sauce was put in a small plastic cup instead of it being smothered as is ordinarily.
The burrito itself and cheese sauce were barely warm while the rice and beans were nearly cold. The chipotle sauce I requested was not included. Though a minor issue, the tortilla was cracked on both sides so not a great presentation either. It took a little while for my order to be took although it didn't take long to come out once taken. I like having my food served hot or at least warm!
Can't imagine what could have caused the temperature issue. That's the way it was on a recent takeout too although I wasn't particularly upset about it for that. Almost $15 including the tip. Not sure why I even left a tip but I did. There were quite a few people in there. The server was busy and pleasant.
On a previous visit I got the "Super Nachos". There's nothing particularly special about them and it's a relatively small portion.
You'll get your own drinks from a refrigerated case. The atmosphere isn't particularly appealing. Considerable echoing and was chilly tonight. Expect to pay for water if you want it. And, bring cash if you don't want to be charged the fee for using your debit or credit card. Those aren't huge issues in and of themselves although I am expecting quality food served.
I used to drive a few miles to dine here or order carry out for their authentic Mexican food. It's not like it used to be for some time now. I won't be returning again unfortunately. *2 Stars

Read moreMe and two buddies were driving across the country on a road trip. We ended up staying at War Axe state rec area and decided to give Mary Chuy a try for dinner. We ordered the Carne Asada, Special Quesadilla, and The Chile Colorado with some chips and guac. All were excellent and the price and portions are very fair. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone driving through or anyone in...
Read moreOn a road trip from Denver passing through; the ambience is lacking but the food more than makes up for it! And that's really all that matters. The food was wonderful. We had steak and chicken tacos and the flavors were delicious. We also bought corn and flour tortillas to go, take advantage of this little wonderful hole...
