Salad and Go — Restaurant in Gilbert

Update: 2023 Sept since new owners bought couple years ago, it’s not the same. They no longer have the Apple Spice Lemonade, it was so Awesome! They changed the fall Salad and it’s a little gross with the hard chewy dry Brussels sprouts 🤢and they dropped the perfect Apples and changed autumn maple dressing. It was my favorite salad.! The breakfast burritos keep changing, way less egg and bacon and smaller, and potatoes different salty seasoning. The seasonal burritos w/raw spinach were unpleasant. The cold brew is now watery. All the salads are smaller portions. Plus they don’t release seasonal changes on time or consistently. This many negative changes, you are pushing customers away. The Blueberry Basil Lemonade is good flavor, needs a tad more lemonade. ———— My hubby and I really enjoy Salad and Go, we go to this location a couple times a month. Other locations as well;). The Salads are almost always nicely crisp, you get a large amount of greens and large dressing packet for a very reasonable price and fast drive thru service. They’re great about substituting or omitting items. My favorite salad is the Greek and the seasonal salads -especially the fall salad with sweet potatoes and apples! The Traditional breakfast burrito is tasty, but be warned it’s primarily bacon and potato vs scrambled eggs, surprising right? The other breakfast burritos with the ground Turkey is not either of our preference because frankly, the ground turkey is weird to us and overpowering. Again, we think the burritos would be better with mainly eggs. I also get the ice coffee, iced tea, and cucumber lemonade. Overall drinks are great -for a dollar especially. Rarely, the tea is not clear or cucumber lemonade tasted a day old...

Updated Review: I’m happy to see the serving sizes have returned to normal in my last few visits, adding to what I feel is a good value for a salad at this price point. The taste is good and the ingredients are fresh as always. I’m happy to be able to give this place a good rating again.

——————- Old Review: I’ve been coming here almost daily for almost a year, and as of a few weeks ago I noticed my salad’s weight getting lighter and I’m still hungry after eating. I always order double protein but lately double portions don’t seem as hefty as they used to be. The first few times I figured it was just a fluke but it’s been the same now for about 3 weeks. It wasn’t till today that I asked the cashier if their portion sizes have shrunk and she confirmed that they did make the scoop sizes smaller recently.

I’m disappointed to learn this considering they just increased their prices. I understand prices are going up for everything but if the portions go down at the same time, and a standard meal no longer fills me up, then I no longer have any incentive to choose this salad over any other.

I’m sad to say I no longer feel like I’m getting a good deal for a good meal here.

EDIT: In response to the store reply (thank you for your reply): I went to the Val Vista and Pecos location as well, to see if their portions were any better. They weren’t - see image. The salad takes up less than half of the container. I hope this can be addressed so I can update my...

After wandering down memory lane, and the memories of the farms that use to fill Williams Field Rd just east of Higley. My journey brought me to the drive through of Salad and Go.

Drive through, fast food salads. Could this be a thing? It is, but now will it live up to the hype? Time to put my money where my mouth is, and hopefully the yummy greenery that I am about to partake.

The process was incredibly simple, but was it too simple? As i pull up to the window, the anticipation reaches new heights. The driver side window falls away, and the pick up window parts to bear in all its splendor the smiling eyes (and well masked face) of the attendant. She happily takes my payment and delivers unto me my order. I curiously peek into the plastic bags which hold the plastic containers of greeny goodies.

I am stunned to see that they look exactly like the menu board! (To be honest a little better and bigger than the menu!)

I pull into a parking space, in a lot next door. I am too intrigued to wait till i reach home to try it in all its healthy decadence. I open the case, the greens all smell fresh, the chicken so pure. I open the dressing, apply it generously and close to shake and coat. I reopen my conquest to taste its freshly mixed contents.

DELICIOUS!!! Well played Salad and Go, I will be coming...
