Cancun Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Glasgow

Are you kidding me? This place is very unique. I grew up in Texas and every Mexican food restaurant I've ever been to has catered to the stereotypical decore and atmosphere. Cancun does not. In fact, it's more like a place Mexicans would want to party at. With low level lighting and modern Hispanic dance music, the employees feel relaxed and happy in their own element. It's apparent in how they treat their customers more like family. It also has a feel of upscale professionalism that seems extremely out of place for a Mexican restaurant and certainly one in a small town in Kentucky. Yet the locals love it... totally bizarre. Now about the food. While not traditional, it seems to fall in line with a lot of modern American restaurants in that it's presentation and quality have been upgraded. This makes you feel like they don't just have cooks back there but actual Chefs. If you don't know, most Mexican restaurants alter their restaurants to suit the pallet of your typical American. Your typical American couldn't handle the spice level, let alone some of the other aspects of Mexican quisine. (Just one experience eating where they eat and you will know what I mean). But they didn't just dumb down their traditional food for the American pallet, they amped it up. Instead of using what we would consider harsh spice to inhance flavor, they used fresher ingredients. GREAT MEXICAN STYLE FOOD!! 🏋🥑 If you like Mexican food then this is one of the better places to eat at. My family & I have been eating here for several years; actually since they first opened. The staff is very courteous, friendly & quick to attend to whatever your dining needs may be. There's generally a LOT of cars in the parking lot around meal times so that's always a CLUE to a good place to eat. The fact that we're REPEAT CUSTOMERS should be another giveaway fact that this is a good place to sit down, relax & have a really good meal. The atmosphere is friendly & unhurried. The service is great. The dining area, building & parking lot are clean & kept well maintained. The restroom is clean, free of objectionable odors, the trash cans in there are kept emptied. Not enough GOOD things to say about Cancun Restaurant. Excellent service, top quality food, and great portions. I had enough left over for two more meals; yet husband ate ALL of his while we were there. Fast attentive service, even while the restaurant was extremely busy. Parking lot was packed and had expected to have to wait. This was not the case. Habanero salsa is available upon request for those like me that enjoy a spicier side of life. Prices are more than reasonable. Two adults, mixed drinks, and under $30 before tax; for two meals. True mexican fare was new to the old man.
