In all fairness I was part of a large group but we did call ahead by several hours to make sure there would not be a problem. When we arrived we were seated quickly. It took a while for the waiter to take our order but he did bring a basket of bread sticks out without having to be asked. However when someone asked for olive oil to dip the bread in ( this is primarily an Italin resturant) it had to be explained to the waitress what was wanted. The waitress acted like she had never heard of olive oil. When the waiter finally took drink orders he only asked 2 people at the table and ignored the other 5. When he brought drinks out he had trays of drinks and would hold up the drink announce what it was and just wait for someone in the room to take the drink. Then when it came time to take food orders I am not sure what the waiters system was but he went to each table and instead of taking the tables order and submitting it he went around to every table (there were 40 of us) and just had a running order and submitted the entire thing to the kitchen at once. There was no way he could remember or know what each person ordered. At my table he did not take one order (the gentleman the waiter was standing next to lol) and had to be called back to get the order. After a long wait dinner salads and appetizers came out. Instead of bringing each person's order to them the waiter held up the dish and announced what it was and waited for takers. Oh I forgot to mention those if us who were not asked for our drink order were never asked we just took a mystery drink from the tray of drinks left on an empty table. My salad was not great the lettuce had been sitting somewhere so cold that it had frozen yummy. Then there was the long wait about 30 to 45minutes until the first entrees appeared. Not to let any of us down they were served in the same fashion as the rest of the meal hold up the plate and see if anyone claimed it There was one order at our table that was wrong and it was just sent back with no replacement ( at the request of the patron). Two people ordered the lobster ravioli which did not look appetizing at all. There were 5 smallish raviolis in what appeared to be a lobster bisque. One person's plate looked like he had just ordered soup. The other person that got the ravioli found a rather long dark hair inside one of her ravioli and needles to say she and everyone at the table were just done. When the hair was brought to the waiters attention he pulled out his glasses to examine it??? I personally had the spaghetti carbonara and there is no nice way to say this it was flavorless no garlic no taste possible the worst meal I have had in a very long time and I like to eat. After everyone was finished we waited for our check and waited and waited finally we got up and went to the front of the restaurant to pay. The cashier was very nice and offer apologies as she could not help us with out a check. Our waiter then came to the desk and got our orders and rung us out. It's a good thing he included his 20 percent tip on each check because the service was bad. As for the hair in the food she only had to pay for her drink. Sorry not sorry to say I will not be back. Just incase someone thinks this restaurant was just having a bad night the same thing...
Read moreWe've gave Gondoliers so many chances, but after tonight, never again will we dine in. We waited about 10mins just for our drinks (3 WATERS), placed our order for our appetizers and pizza at that same time. Appetizers took another 15 mins and were absolutely overpriced for what they were. $10 for 6 small jalapeno popper sized Mac and cheese bites ..insane. They were also luke warm. Pizza took another 45mins! Waitress took her time with the larger parties of people (would visit their tables about 3x to our 1x). She came over telling us our pizza would be out soon and that it was because of so many large parties, and it wasn't her fault (never said it was) but in all honesty, we got there long before the crowds started. Again, it had already been 30mins, took another 15 and we just asked for a pizza box upon it's arrival. I chose to get a cake slice before leaving for the car as my husband paid for the main course, and while standing there, our waitress gives our card to the other server. Who then gives my husband's card to me, along with the bill! Mind you, she never saw our license, we weren't wearing rings, for all they knew, I could've been some random bimbo! And they just hand me my husband's debit card! Meanwhile, I pay for my cake, another 5mins goes by, I go back to our table to inform my husband about them handing me his card (something they never even informed him of, so he was just waiting there for nothing). We go back to the front, I ask if I could please get my cake slice, and yet another server asks me if I'd like a slice. I then inform her I've already paid, I'd like to get it and go. Of which she asks to see my receipt while I'm trying to juggle my 23lbs 9m old! All the while, the server that rang it up a few minutes prior, is just standing there!!! Like, seriously!? I finally get the receipt dug out after my husband then tries to juggle our son and the pizza so I can dig in my pockets for it. It was just an all around $hiπ show. An hour plus for some 5min appetizers, a cake slice, and a pizza, ridiculous. Not to mention, our server acted like we were asking for an arm and a leg when we simply asked for dipping sauces. Unreal. Take care of the people that were there first, not those with bigger parties that will provide a larger tip.
Their cakes and pizza are amazing, skip a the appetizers, and...
Read moreI'm giving gondolier's four stars even though I've actually never been able to place or receive any order from this restaurant it seems they don't have delivery in the same town that they are located Glasgow Kentucky and the sookie delivery has some kind of an on-site error with their payment situation so you actually cannot sign up for an account and actually make a payment online on silkie.com but I have talked to other customers who say that gondoliers is great their food is superb and their customer service is also very very good I do give four thumbs up because Tony is Italian and I don't give less than four stars to any place that is Italian made in bread but other words I will eventually try gondoliers when I can find either a delivery service that will actually deliver or I can get the problem with silky.com fixed so that my credit card will be accepted evidently my recent move from Louisville Kentucky to Glasgow Kentucky my bank is not updated my address and if I order from them with my credit card they want to send my order to Louisville Kentucky of which I don't live in anymore so soki is a little bit messed up I'm trying to work through their issue I've got a friend of mine who also had issues with their website to order food but we're trying to get some kind of a thing addressed here so this can be fixed eventually I would like to try gondoliers actually receive an order from them and the only downfall to them is that they don't do specials on your birthdayI kind of think they should add that to the restaurants availability that if you go there on your birthday or you pick up an order on your birthday you get some kind of a dessert item or something but gondolier's claims it right now they don't have the ability to add any birthday items free birthday items on your birthday to their menu hopefully that will change in the future again I give God dealers four stars up once I've actually got an order and I've been able to try their food then I might change my four stars at that time but Tony says four stars and one thumbs up two gondoliers in...
