My husband and I were on the hunt for some lunch and wanted to go to a restaurant instead of a fast food place. And I'm pregnant and was very hungry, so I was looking for what I was craving, which was a chicken sandwich, and boy did Big Chef deliver! This was our first time here and 10/10 would definitely recommend. I ordered a chicken sandwich combo with an Oreo Flurry, you get the option of a grilled or fried chicken, which I thought was awesome in case you wanna go healthier. My husband got the Philly Steak sandwich combo with tater tots. Let me tell y'all, this chicken sandwich was a good size sandwich and I got the fried but the sandwich wasn't heavly battered so it had a very small layer of fried on the outside and a beautiful piece of chicken breast on the inside. It was so good! And the seasoning on it was so tasty! The fries were a perfect amount for me, not too big and not too small and the seasoning on the fries were really good! My husband said his Philly Steak sandwich was really good. Overall everything was super good and we were very satisfied with everything. Now if you've never been, here's what to expect, There is no seating inside, you order inside and then you have the option of sitting in your car, sitting at the tables outside or go to the side of the building and sit under the awning. If you are outside, they will call your order on a microphone. The staff is Super friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food since it was busy when we got there. Prices were very decent to. For the two of us it was around $27. So next time you are hungry and near by this place, check it out!...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped here for dinner on our way to Atlanta on Friday night on the recommendation of one of my husband's coworkers. It's an old-timey drive-in with a pretty big menu -- burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, lots of fried appetizers. It's got a nostalgic feel to it, too, which is kind of fun. A couple indoor seats at the counter and lots of picnic tables out front, though most people seemed to eat in their cars.
The employees working at the counter were VERY nice and helpful. Our food came out relatively quickly - the speakers outside work well, too, so no worries about not being able to hear if you wait outside. We grabbed our food and went to the car to eat, as it was chilly.
Husband got some kind of double patty cheeseburger and fries, and I had a single hamburger with bacon and fries. We love fried mushrooms so we got an order of those to share with ranch as an appetizer.
The burgers were decent. Soft buns, juicy enough. Could've used maybe a little more salt or seasoning or something. I wound up taking the bacon off of mine because it was too rubbery for my preference. The fries were crispy and hot but also lacking salt. We enjoyed the homemade ranch with the fried mushrooms. The mushroom batter kind of tasted like batter you'd eat at a county fair. Not bad, but not my favorite either. The mushrooms were quite greasy, too.
The atmosphere and the staff at this place really stand out. It's a convenient stop off, too. For me, however, the food was just alright. I'd come back if it was especially convenient, but probably wouldn't go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place has always been a favorite local place to grab a quick bite. The food would be 3 star but the chiefs milk shakes give it that extra star. I wish I could shade in the stars a bit and then I would give them an extra 1.5 star just for the shakes. The service has never been unfriendly or not smiled at me in at least 15 trips over the years, even during the pandemic when window service was the only way to order, but you could count on the chief when all other restaurants decided to change the rules for everyone and not let us know until we arrived. Closed/not closed, dine in/can't dine in, and the hated, "we are only taking door dash or mobile orders".. Anyone visiting Atlanta post pandemic heard that excuse instead of the true story, "I'm sorry we are milking the pandemic and riding the clock ATM.. please do a mobile order or starve..
The only true negative is the menu price increase, but it's happening everywhere. So, I cant fault them for inflation, but we don't get to blame the oligarchy or politicians for a burger and fries averaging 11.00 or 12.00 at most burger joints. If you see a complaint box from them, please let me know. Big chief still keeps an inflated combo, price with fries, burger, and drink...
