I will preface this by saying we have been at Kai’s for both brunch and dinner previously and enjoyed it. I don’t know if it is attributed to the pandemic and the loss of revenue but this place has gone seriously downhill. We were a party of 4 for brunch. Three of us chose the buffet and one ordered off the menu. I start with the brunch; it’s 12:30 pm, prime brunch time, the majority of the chafing dishes are empty and not being promptly refilled. Most items were lukewarm at best. The dressing accompanying the turkey was the consistency of pudding and looked like no dressing/stuffing I’ve ever seen. The pot roast was not trimmed and there was a lot of fat. There were pieces of pizza puffs cut into quarters limp and lifeless. Bacon was empty. $29 per person with empty and picked over limited options. One of us ordered the filet off the menu. When the waitress brought it out it looked like a joke - a tiny piece of meat on a big white dinner plate. I asked if it was from the children’s menu. To make matters worse the center was all gristle. This was clearly not filet. Even the soda was flat with not enough syrup in the mix. A total bust all the way around. If you look around you’ll note all pride in the establishment is gone; worn carpet with a split in the seam and frayed edges, worn booths now gamble machines. It’s a shame they’ve allowed the business to reach this point.

My dining companion suggested this restaurant to see if it had changed in the last few decades. It had, but arguably only for the better. We commented on the 1980s music before realizing that this was the equivalent of 1940s music at the steakhouse when we were kids. We have become our parents. In that vein, we ordered cocktails instead of beer (do they even have beer?) and toasted to our parents introducing us to fine dining. We shared a platter of raw blue point oysters - prepared perfectly and served with horseradish and cocktail sauce - before our entrees arrived. I could have easily chosen the cedar plank salmon or the equally enticing chicken piccata, or any of a half dozen meals that beckoned. They also have an impressive selection of steaks and seafood, as it is their specialty. But I indulged in the hot honey chicken, whose asparagus side called to me. And, c'mon.. Hot honey sauce? No contest. Having sneaked a look at the dessert special (creme brulee), we saved room for that delight to finish out our visit. I highly recommend Ki's on every metric - service, value, food quality - and can't wait for an occasion to return.

Thanks to Mr. Terry, Spiro, his wife, and all the wonderful staff, Mother's Day was another memorable event! The brunch was absolutely delicious, ranging from an array of fresh, crisp salads, succulent servings of prime rib, sweet and smoky ribs, mouthwatering shrimp, smoked salmon with capers, rich and creamy eggs benedict, irresistible cinnamon French toast, prime cuts of ham and bacon among other savory delights. Did I forget to mention the unlimited refills of sparkling mimosas and the scrumptious and sinfully yummy desserts? The rice pudding (my favorite), had the perfect balance of vanilla, orange zest and sweetness. As for the small farm and petting zoo, it's an adorable treat for kids and adults who are young at heart! Thank you Roumpas Family for your on going dedication to your customers and your continuing efforts in providing the best quality at the best price and making Mother's Day, and every day at Ki's, a fantabulous gastronomic experience!

Where do I even start. I have gone to this place for years, I DJed the first wedding there. I brought my daughter's mother there for mother's day, this is a place I have relished for years. Until tonight... I was honored when they called me to DJ New Years for them, I put in all I had to make it a success. The owners wife Mia told me that the owner hates certain music (which most people love) and I framed the music around his limitations. OI set up hours beforehand. Worked around then to fulfill their needs I came in later, had a wonderful dinner. Started to play and every guest loved the music. I got compliments all night, People asked for my card for their future use, one, Brenda asked for a card just so she could put in an positive review of my humble little business. People asked for music not in line with the owner's personal preference and I asked permission to play said music requests. He said ok. At the end of the night, after all was done, and I had completed and hour of overtime at their request, the wife screamed at me for going outside of the limitations, with one song, that I had cleared with her husband first. I tried to explain to her that I spoke to her husband and got the ok, the next thing I know, she is screaming that I disrespected her, I tried to walk away and next thing I know, I am surrounded by her husband and his coherts blocking me in the parking lot. I did all they asked, and next thing I know I am fearing for my safety. I am sure they are better people than this, but under influence of whatever they drink or do, they are very threatening, scary and at very least inappropriate at best. I left there fearing for my life on what should have been a day to celebrate. All, and I mean ALL of their guests were praising me while they treated me like underling trash. SOOOOOOOO Disappointing!!! I will never go there again and I implore you to all...

This was a horrible experience and unfortunately it took place on Mother's Day. I'll start with what was good before moving into the issues.

Success We were seated within 10min of arriving at our reservation time Our table was clean and prepared for our party Drink orders were taken and delivered within a few min

Issues Our waitress was rude, kept reaching over plates, and had an attitude when asked questions for clarity. The waitress assumed my children's ages when bringing the check and charged my son as an adult vs just asking for details. The food lacked flavor and consistency. Some of the food was overcooked and other items were undercooked. None of the servers who maintained the buffet area wore gloves or masks.

My Biggest Issue When the waiter brought my check she attempted to add her own gratuity (17.69%) in the area the customer is supposed to complete. Then when I called her on it, she told me "it was mandatory". I scratched out what she wrote and wrote my own dollar amount. She proceeded to get upset and told me and my family "I don't need your money, you can leave" in the middle of the restaurant and stormed off. I spoke with the manager who confirmed gratuity is "suggested" and that her behavior was unprofessional, but nothing else was done.

I ALWAYS treat people with respect and leave a 15-20% tip at restaurants regardless of the food quality as long as the person assisting my table is professional, polite, courteous, and respectful. It's not about money, it's about your level of respect and how you treat your guests. This was the worst experience I've ever had and would never recommend this...

The singular worst meal I have had in a very long time. I wish I was kidding as this was my wife and my 13 year anniversary dinner. By coincidence, we were seated near another couple who were also celebrating their anniversary, and were discussing their equally terrible experience.

Everything put before us was an absolute joke. The highlight of the meal was the frozen, poorly fried, chewy calamari... a dish on par with the SeaPack frozen calamari you get from your local grocery freezer section.

Next, the french onion soup... Every bite had one or the combination of bay leaves and onion skin. I just love paying for the pleasure of chewing on dry leaf and plastic textures. But next time, I'll just pack the kids in the car so we can head to Morton's Arboretum late fall and chew on some fallen leaves.

My wife's filet was a pathetic, scraping the bottom of the barrel, piece of meat. This actually redeemed the meal quite a bit as we were laughing so hard at what she was served. It inspired us to video chat with some family to say hi and share this piece of roadkill she was served. Lots of laughs all around!

The veggies on each of our entrees were just plopped on the plate with no seasoning. My cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots were lukewarm and not cooked through. I ate a few bites of my ribs and came to the conclusion I would be eating a bowl of cheerios when we got home.

We choose Ki's not because we had high hopes of an extravagant meal, but because my wife wanted a competently prepared steak. In hindsight, I would have been equally upset if we were served this meal in a Denny's or a backwoods...
