I went today for Father’s Day and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I’m a single mom, so my kids and I celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day for me. Upon arriving the atmosphere was just not very friendly and everyone was just kind of off. When we were seated, there was no urgency to serve us. The people whom surrounded us were dressed super fancy and it was obvious they had a lot of money or at least looked that way. I was the only adult woman with small children “without a man!” The people surrounding us were all treated very well and with absolute urgency when anything was needed as my kids and I sat there waiting 10-20 minutes for any refills and once the food came it was at least 15 minutes before we were asked if we need anything else. I stated that the good was good and asked for refills. About 10 minutes go by and still no refills. By this time we’re now done eating and it’s pretty obvious. The waitress seems to avoid coming anywhere near the table and by now another 15 minutes go by and I finally am able to get her attention and ask for some boxes as well as the bill. There was a lot of food for us to leave with and she gave me 3 very small clear containers that weren’t the easiest to figure out at all but I managed. So then once again we sit and wait for her to grab my card to pay the bill, it was another at least 15 minutes more! By this time we’ve been in the restraint a total of almost 2 hours and all we ordered was brunch and 3 kids having to sit and wait over and over wasn’t ok when it was very obvious that we didn’t mean anything as a customer because we aren’t rich! So now the waitress grabs the card and the bill and brings back the paper for me to sign. As she hands it to me I start signing and ask for the manager and she asked me why repeatedly! I told her as well as the manager that I’m absolutely appalled at our service there! I explained that all the “rich looking people” were treated with urgency, while my kids and I, (who aren’t rich and don’t go out to eat often), are treated like we don’t matter! Then the manager stated “we have people from Italy here, we have multimillionaires here often,” which means absolutely nothing to me! Just goes to show that MONEY is what’s important and if you don’t LOOK like you have money you don’t matter! So thanks for making me feel HORRIBLE on a day that means a lot to my kids because I’m all they have! Thanks for attempting to make my kids and I feel embarrassed or not worthy of good customer service! We have been through a lot the past week and this was our chance to relax and enjoy an amazing meal! The food was great but the whole rest of the experience was just horrible! As a single mom, Veteran, PERSON, I just can’t believe it! My kids shouldn’t have had to deal with this treatment at all! And in the end, all I was told was “well you should give us a second chance some time and come back when WE ARE NOT SOO BUSY!” Ummm this was my first time ever here… Why would I come back after that experience?! I’m sure almost...
Read moreDont get me wrong the food was great but there were a few things that needed some definate improvement...first of all i am a cashier/server and i know how to treat customers appropriately...our server didnt bother telling us his name until we asked which is the first thing a server should do...second he didnt explain anything on the menu and was slow to deliver food and bring the check...the third thing that really angered me was the fact when we asked for a dessert menu while we were finishing dinner he told us flat out we weren't going to be able to order until we "finish your food first".... when dessert came it was ok but my boyfriends chocolate lava cake wasnt really a lava cake...it had no molten center or powdered sugar and was topped with ice cream and whipped cream...i ordered the keylime pie and it was overly limey and looked like cheesecake....as for the cleaning aspect they need to upkeep their floors...they were filthy and the floor boarders were torn and coming off...there also seemed to be a lot of dust....and lastly the flowers on our table looked like they hadn't had their water changed in...
Read moreLiver an onions, yum. Not as rare a dish as I thought but this cozy restaurant is more than a cafe offering soups, sandwiches and homey entrees pork chops, cheese or spinach ravioli, shrimp with fries, baked or mashed potatoes depending on the dish. Going from fries to baked or mashed has a $1 charge. Specials are listed on a menu board at the entry so call ahead if you crave liver and onions. It can be served on Wednesday or Thursday but it's not a regular dish on the menu. One owner, female started as a waitress, bought this cozy restaurant when it only served breakfast items. Go girl! Nestled in a strip mall at the end it's a great location but parking can be limited because of the other businesses. I almost didn't go in because the name Cafe which in my mind means a limited sandwich and coffee place. This Cafe is much more. I will go back because it offers a quiet adult atmosphere, non alcoholic restaurant. Hurray. I will go back and...
