El Sabor de la Familia — Restaurant in Glendale

This is one of those spots that isn't necessarily bad but also not great. It's somewhere in the middle. What makes it a spot to go is the affordable prices with a "mom & pop shop" feel.

The prices are really good but they also reflect the quality. I'm not saying you can't find some gems on the menu, like the fresh cripsy gorditas are 8/10 but other items like the enchiladas are made with powder sauce while others taste like if you just started to learn how to cook Mexican food but in a bare minimum style. It could be just over budget reasons.

Food is delicious! Got a caldo de res and the broth itself had a great flavor! Everything else like meat and veggies complemented each other) next time I wanna try the caldo de albondigas. (Yes I'll be back!) Also had a "Super" Burrito. It was just a regular burrito but the price is justified for the size. I got a taco de tripa and asked for tripas crispy... it was made to perfection!... didn't care for the type of onions they use but its ok. Green salsa is amazing! Right amount of heat and flavor! I feel like this place is largely underrated! Unlike large commercial restaurants, El Sabor de la Familia has a very authentic taste and feel. The prices are incredible, and the serving sizes are quite generous. Their food looks great, smells great, and tastes amazing! The employees (all women when I visited) were friendly, attentive, and served me very quickly. They even answered all my questions without getting annoyed or trying to up sell me on an item that I didn't want.
