Everything is delicious and homemade. The service is excellent, although they recently added a second room without expanding their kitchen, so having really hot food depends a lot on how fast your food gets done in relation to your other party members. When it gets busy, it really gets busy, so plan to get there around 5:30 or 7:30. If you go in the dinner rush, you may have to wait for 10-15 minutes to be seated.
Margaritas are strong and large. Recommended dishes: Chicken Picado, Pollo Mole, the chicken Fajitas (if you don't eat much, two people can split what is meant for one person. We typically ask for a couple plates of grilled vegetables on the side, but they do charge extra). If you like beef, get the Ropa Vieja. All of these dishes are rather large in size. If you get the Arroz con Pollo, ask them for light cheese. Trust me, the dish gets very cheesy if you don't say anything, and it might be too heavy to sit well in your stomach. If you're looking for a good burrito, look no further than the El Sol Burrito Especial. Just a heads up though, it is massive, so unless you have the stomach of a growing teenager, plan to eat half and take the rest home. If you're lucky, the owner of the restaurant will bring you nachos while you wait for your food to arrive, though you'll already have chips and salsa.
They can seat surprisingly large parties. Seating consists of mainly booths, and the middle tables are usually used for larger groups. Note that if you are a large party of 6-12, there are only a few seating options, so plan your arrival...
Read moreThis place has great salsa and chips in my opinion. Hole in the wall mexican food. My go to dish was the nachos with no beans. I have been ordering it for many years. I was not able to go there for a while and So the other night I wanted some nachos. I ended up going there. I asked for the food just like I normally would only ask for nachos with shrimp. No beans. I asked for the guacamole and sour cream on the side. Like I normally would and then, when the nachos came out the cheese was half melted, it was mozzarella instead of regular Mexican cheese. Like they normally put the tomatoes when they normally would not have that on top. then when I questioned it, the man said well, you haven't been here in a lot of months, so they change the way they make the nachos, unlike if you know that I'm a regular, that's what I normally order. Why don't you tell me that it's changed? I spent way too much money for Some chips salsa and maybe 4 little shrimp chopped up with mozzarella cheese. Never again. I would probably take the salsa to go but I would not order the food again....

However, the staff noticed I was hurried and kindly encouraged me to sit down, assuring me that my food would be out quickly. I’m so glad I took their advice!
True to their word, the food came out incredibly fast. Within just 20 minutes, I had ordered, eaten, and was on my way. The staff was attentive and checked on me multiple times during my meal, which made me feel truly valued as a customer. It’s not often you find such dedicated service!
