This here is their "steak sandwich". Very disappointed... usually sandwiches come assembled. This was just steak and toast. I waited about 10 minutes until the server came back around for me to tell her I did not like the way it came to me. I asked for Swiss on it originally, that was forgotten so I asked for WHOLE PIECES of toast with Swiss so I could somehow make a sandwich out of the chunks of steak which was supposed to be a 6oz. Steak by the way. It was MAYBE a 3oz. Steak. Meanwhile my fiancé was eating her food which was a Philly. The au jus that was included was salty brown water!! I waited forever for my toast and cheese. I saw it sitting on the counter and still ended up waiting another 10 minutes for that to be brought to me. Horrible service! It was the 4th of July, but it was pretty slow so no reason any of this should have happened. Plus there was food all over the floor, flies buzzing everywhere and my fiance found hair on the knife that came on the plate with her food. Save yourself some disappointment and go to AJ's up the hill!!!

I haven't been here for years, and it's as good as I remember. Great atmosphere, good food at a fair price, and friendly service. I enjoy sitting out on the patio overlooking the lake. The service is usually a little slower out of the patio, but the views and beautiful weather can make it worth it. We tried a variety of things, and everyone enjoyed their meal. They have a good amount of parking and clean bathrooms. The dock and kids play area are a nice touch for families. We saw the fire pit out of the patio also, which would be really enjoyable in the evenings. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

We chose to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary at the Lakeside on Sunday night. Everything about the entire evening was worthy of a 5 star rating. Our server, Dawn, did an impeccable job seeing to all the needs of a party of 14, from beverages through dinner, which included an unexpected complimentary dessert. The back house staff didn't miss a beat in getting all meals out within a couple of minutes from the beginning of service. It all made for a memorable evening of food, family, friends and reminiscences of our special day 40 years ago.

Just as an fyi. I am pretty easy going and this day and age I know full well that expectations at restaurants is hard to meet above expectations. Just take care of me. Take my order. Check on me and get me what I ordered in a reasonable amount of time. This restaurant excelled at lowering the bar to an all time low. Had reservations. Decided to sit at patio. Got our drinks and waiter took our order around 6:45. About 7:15 waiter came to our table and stated that they were out of special. Ordered another round of drinks. No big deal the person at our table that ordered special changed their order. A person at our table ordered another drink. That drink arrived incorrectly so waiter gave it to my wife at no charge. At 7:35 waiter came to our table and apologized for delay and provided chips and salsa. Never really saw them much after that. Drinks and water were empty……….At 8:15 I went to find our waiter. The dining room was empty except for one table. I found our waiter and asked when we could get our food……”we are super busy right now and behind.” But I asked him to look around as the dining room was empty. The tables around us at the patio were drinking and not eating. In fact when I was trying to find our waiter the tables around us joked that the kitchen and waiter forgot about us. Waiter assured us that our food would be right out. I went to the restroom. As I walked back to the patio via the the bar area I overheard the waiter and the manager talking about our table something along the lines of “we gave them chips and salsa what more do they expect?” At 8:30 still no food and drinks and water still empty from last time waiter came to our table about an hour earlier. I went to find the manager. I spoke to the manager. I informed her that it was 8:30 and we have been sitting with no drinks and ordered food before 7. She seemed confused and would get right on it. Food came out shortly after that. Food was not good. Seemed like things had been reheated and one dish of walleye was bad. Manager came out and apologized and would comp next round of drinks. Wasn’t worth complaining about food because based on everything that occurred up to that point proved it would do no good. Drinks came. My beer was warm and wasn’t the brand I had been drinking. Took one sip. The mixed drinks had little to no alcohol in them. Got our bill. Drinks were not comped and the free drink the waiter screwed up on and “gave” to my wife was on bill. Had to wait another 15 minutes for waiter. He took off a round but did not comp the “free” drink. First time at lakeside. What a joke. If it wasn’t for the good company and sitting by the lake the evening would have been a total bust. Icing on the cake????? There was a bachelorette party. These individuals were dressed as elderly people. Looked like they were having a good time. The issue? They stopped at every table and in fact came to our table numerous times soliciting money for the honeymoon. Nothing better than trying to converse with friends thirsty and hungry and being begged...

I have never had such a humiliating experience at a restaurant.

It started off great when I ordered the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I was with a party of people and after more shrimp was being ordered, my mom took initiative to discretely go let the waitress know of my shellfish allergy. The waitress came back after checking the kitchen. She let me know that they have cross contamination issues with the chicken and shrimp. At this point, I was already becoming overwhelmed with how my shellfish allergy has been announced to the entire table and needed to take a minute to collect myself. My mom went to then asked if they can make fettuccine Alfredo with no chicken. They said yes and began making it.

I return to the table and a few minutes later, a new waitress came to the table. She began telling me with no empathy that the kitchen is making it and that there’s no guarantee that my food would be clean and to “eat it at your own risk.” I could have been hospitalized if they still gave me the food without telling me they actually aren’t making any effort to make sure it’s clean from shellfish.

Everyone kept telling me I can pick something else, but how am I supposed to when they claimed everything was contaminated?? I don’t understand how some plain noodles and sauce managed to have shrimp in it. I should never be told by the waitress that there are “huge cross contamination issues…” Are the employees hands not being washed?? They could have easily taken 3 minutes to wipe the counter and use a clean pan.

I left the table once again because of how devastated and embarrassed I was that I couldn’t eat with my family I haven’t seen in a long time. I picked up ice cream at Dairy Queen and ate it alone in the parking lot while everyone else ate inside without me.

I didn’t get a single apology from any staff or management.

You...

I got here at 5:20. Its now 6:45 and i am waiting for my waitress to come back around so i can get my check and take out box. It took some time to decifer the menu because the lighting was so low. I Got the fried cheese curds, essentially mozzarella sticks, i could only taste the breading. My steak arrived at around 6:15. Cooked medium well so not really juicy. That's my fault this time. I err on the side of caution at a new place. They have old chinese knives that you saw through the meat with not cut, and the first one they brought me had a loose handel. It took 15 minutes of sitting there eating only my potato, which was good except for the low class taco truck sour cream packets instead of a small condiments bowl, to get noticed before i got a new knife. And she only came around then because she realized she forgot to bring me steak sauce and wanted to confirm she forgot. The booth i was in had collapsed at some point before i got there, so i had to slide to the inside seat close to the wall and i could feel every movement of the person on the back side. Finally got out of there at 6:55 feeling under whelmed ant a little riped off. This place would be nice if they went trying to pass themselves off as more then what they are. A bar and grill. The check hurt. I won't lie, it hurt. $36.09 plus a $4 tip because even a lack luster attempt is an attempt. Don't bother coming here. This place is in dire need of updating and they charge way too much for the service and food. they couldnt even be bothered to get rid of the 3 day old snow on the sidewalk that went all the way to the door. I didn't want to spend this...
