Doodles Donuts and Cafe — Restaurant in Gloucester Courthouse

These donuts have made me famous with my coworkers but also decimated my self-esteem: After bringing these donuts to work a few times this year I began noticing how excited my coworkers were to see me when I’d show up in their offices. It turns out they’ve just been excited at the thought that I might be bringing them donuts.*

The real review: This is a cozy little place that opens up early enough for me to snag a few dozen donuts before heading into work a couple times a month. The staff there is always friendly and kind, even at 6 am. The prices are reasonable for the quality and it hits the spot when you’re craving the indulgence of real pastry that’s truly freshly baked over a pre packaged donut chain experience.

Huge doughnuts! If you normally eat 2 at a time, you'll only eat 1 of these. These are more of a drier doughnut like DD and not squishy, wet like KK. I prefer the drier doughnut and these are delicious! Sure, these are pricey, but you are paying for size and quality. There were several fancy flavors, but also the more simpler glazed or sugar/cinnamon. And their lemon filled was actually filled! Not just a tiny dollop in the middle. They will pacakge them separately if anyone in your household has allergies, such as to bacon. That was greatly appreciated!

They also offer coffee and espresso. I love Mobjack Bay Coffee and am happy to be able to get a cup closer to home.

Give this place a try! But get there early because they may run out before the posted closing time. Stopped by on a Sunday morning around 1030 and they still had plenty of donuts. It was our first time there. The employee was very helpful with all of my questions about what the donuts were. Prices may seem a little higher than your everyday donut chain prices but the donuts are massive! Well worth the money. I had the maple bacon donut because yes. I was not disappointed.
