Juicy & light, but dry and tough. Janet was a great waitress she really made our experience excellent! The place was very classy and far from your average diner. The food is also reasonably priced. The 3, 4, and 5 course meal options is a great idea. For just myself, I was able to get refills on my drink, salad, soup, dessert and an entrée for just $17 dollars. The best part is they didnt cheap out when it came to food either. The appetizer that ny friends and myself ordered was a mix of everything. Although the only thing I really ate was the chicken fingers, everything appeared appealing. The chicken fingers were juicy and the breading wasn't overly greasy. Next was the ceasar salad from the "4 course meal" deal. It was crunchy and still brightly green. As for the croutons, they were, well, mostly crunchy and fresh. There were a few that appeared a bit soggy but overall it was very tasty. The last thing I was able to sink my teeth into was the chicken parmesan. One of my favorites and a huge go to. When the plate first came out, it did appear hearty and appetizing. The chicken was crispy, and tender with little grease. A thin parmesan cheese layer was melted throughout the top. The cheese was stringy, warm and milky. I must say, however, the chicken did taste a bit dry and just a little tough in some areas... The gravy or "sauce" used was very light and rich. Some of the seasoning were very strong, and if did appear a bit watered down. It was not acidic or thick as you would usually expect from a homemade style. This did make me wonder, and believe, it could be canned and not homemade. The last part of my meal was the cheesecake. I must say that I did not eat the cheese cake in restaurant, but it was very flavorful and sweet. Overall the experience was positive, the food appealing and staff pleasant. I would reccomend this place to a friend or family member, and I will be back to try more. Lo

Updated Review 7/23: I had to update my review from my last visit here. This time was way better! The food was really good and fresh. The service was good and we were seated comfortably. We did not have a great experience last time and I’m happy to say it was completely different this time. I will return again! I am disappointed to say they no longer have curly fries. :( The appearance of this diner is appealing, in fact it is huge. They were super busy when we went and there were many “regulars” in there. If it wasn’t for the food, I would have rated it much higher. I ordered mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. The sauce was good but the mozzarella sticks were doughy and not cooked very well. The waitress says that they just started using new mozzarella sticks. I wouldn't get them again. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon and curly fries. First, I rarely come across places that serve curly fries so this was a huge plus for me. The sandwich, however, was greasy and I had to take most of the bacon off because it was undercooked and rubbery. Finally, I ordered a danish and an apple turnover to go. They were both rock hard and had very little flavor. I was disappointed because they advertise a bakery so I thought I would get bakery quality. The one thing I did like is that they had all of the bakery items individually wrapped. I would give the diner one more try but I definitely will not be ordering bakery items. They do have a really large menu, so I can try something new!

We recently visited Lamp Post Diner and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant was very clean and well-appointed, and the bathrooms were spotless. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated within the estimated time range, and the server was incredibly friendly and helpful. She clearly cared about her work, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The food also exceeded our expectations. Everything from the coffee and cookies and cream milkshake to the French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon was delicious. We also tried the special of the day, the Tex Mex Burrito, which was deep-fried and filled with eggs, corn, black beans, peppers, onions and sausage, smothered in cheese with a side of potatoes. For dessert, we opted for the Italian rum cake and mango cheesecake, and both were delectable. I was impressed by the extensive menu, and based on what other patrons received, it’s clear that the restaurant prepares all their dishes exceptionally well. Furthermore, we were pleasantly surprised to receive a 10% discount valid Monday through Wednesday from 6 am to 11 am, excluding holidays. Overall, our experience was excellent, and we look forward to returning to Lamp Post Diner soon.

3-2-25: First visit. So I decided to try this place from a recommendation of a friend. For it being the first visit I was pleased. The place was alot bigger then I first expected it to be. Also, definitely super busy. I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon. Place looked clean and staff was friendly and attentive. I was told how good their breakfast items are, but was in the mood for something different. So I ended up getting the Crab Imprial Fries for a started. Honestly, these fries were great. Nice size fries and good amount of toppings. Only ate half, because I wanted to leave room for the main dish. (Took home the rest). For the main dish, I got the Mussels Gorgonzola and had cup Minestrone soup with it. The soup was good. The Mussles Gorgonzola dish was fantastic. Large amount of pasta with plenty mussels and sausage on top. I really enjoy this dish for being something different than what I normally would order from a place. Overall, all the food was good that I tried. Also, for as busy as they were, the items came out in a timely manner and was made well. Will have to come back and try some breakfast items as well. This place is definitely worth a try.

I ordered a Lox Bagel 🥯 Deluxe. Asked for the Bagel toasted and buttered. It came out toasted, not buttered or Cream Cheese. I asked for butter, it came right out. I had to butter it , cream cheese it, cut the tomatoes & cut the cucumbers and then build it myself 😁 I paid top dollar. The check states on the bottom, next purchase with that receipt 10%. I asked, would you consider honoring it today since I had to make my own Bagel 🥯. Now I'm waiting 5 minutes and the manager comes out. He wanted me to explain to him what I wanted. He said No. He said customer's complaining about it coming out already made. I asked him if he would consider honoring this time and I know for next time not to order it. He said No, I said perhaps you could write on the menu everything comes on the side. He said No, I said you are actually willing to lose a customer over 10% (not even $2.00) He said he will not honor 10%. I paid, left my tip & said Thank You! Grant it, I made a pretty tasty Lox Bagel Deluxe today! I also paid top Dollar 🤑 😂😂😂 Whatever you choose to do, if you are expecting all complete, you might want to ask first.. 😂

Sunday @1pm Party of 2 The wait area was very busy and despite the crowd, our wait was only about 10 minutes. Our initial greeting was pleasant and patient, not rushed and impersonal. Our first impression was that this was a popular place after Sunday services hence the large crowds. The restaurant is clean and organized, spacious and well lit. Service was quick and attentive. Apparently, the kitchen is well staffed and efficient because our food arrived hot and delicious within 15 minutes of our order. The chicken on my Tuscan panini was seasoned to perfection and a true chicken breast, unlike the rib meat you’re given at other diners. My husband rated his burger 9/10, because of its soft bun and juicy patty that didn’t leave the bun soggy. Their fries were crispy and seasoned, yum!! The restaurant’s operations team was on point, carefully aware of tables that required cleaning, patrons that needed placemates/flatware and thirsty diners in need of a refill. Overall, the experience was wonderful in the little time spent there. Our server Jenney, was great and super friendly. Thumbs up for a return visit!
