Read morePicture it. Outlet shopping. Raining. Car full of kids. Hunger. Googling food in the area. No one wants to drive and wait two hours for basic, bland, unseasoned food and horrible service at CCF in Cherry Hill. Then this pops up. Website looked really nice, menu had several interesting items, and it was just minutes away. We sat in the bar area due to our casual and soggy state of dress, but it was very modern. THE FOOD. OMG. SOOOOO good! Can we just start with the mussels? I got them diablo-believe me most places make everything so bland that spicy just means a hesitant pinch of pepper was added. These were actually spicy! The mussels were fresh, silky, and not overdone. So delicious! I love mussels and I stopped having them due to everything that could go wrong with mussels, and these were AMAZING! I had the crab stuffed potato crusted salmon-good flavor, moist fish, tasty broth, the teenager had lobster ravioli topped with a ton of crab, and even the toddler's meal looked official-chicken parm. This wasn't some old disgusting frozen imposter parm-a "tender" topped with cheese-this was a real done cutlet. Not going to lie, I kind of ate some of his food, because it was that good! The limoncello cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We ordered one to share which we all regretted because it was so good. If it was brought in, it certainly wasn't that standard multi-layer, neon yellow glazed, so flimsy and mushy you regret your life's decisions limoncello cake. This one was a sturdy two-layer, healthy dose of filling-which wasn't overly runny-and the layers reminded me a bit of a cross between angel cake and the biscuit of a strawberry short cake. It was soooooooo good. I highly recommend. Our server Hugo, a handsome, friendly young man who indulged the baby, was great. The price was unbelievable for the total experience. This is one of those restaurants that you want to share with everyone-like you keep finding people to invite out so you can keep going back. I was literally working out the next day fantasizing about coming back, and my dining companions have been pestering me about returning ever since so we will probably pop in for a second time today----and what do you know, it's...
Read moreI went on a Monday night with my mother. From looking at their website I assumed it was a nicer restauraunt and we would be seated with white table cloth etc. Instead we were seated in the bar area which was a disappointment. No doubt we looked stupid; I was in dress shoes.
Our server Anastatsi greeted us and took our drinks promptly. Her service was a little slow, but she did reveal that there were supposed to be two servers schudeled for that night so the slowness is understandable.
The restauraunt was very very clean all-around. Even in the bar area. This is the first time I have been to a restauraunt recently with no complaints regarding cleanliness.
My mother got the four course deal. For an appetizer she had gotten the cheese steak rolls and boy those were tasty. We split them, but there were only two and they were not big. I had the French Onion soup. The cheese was a little undercooked, but the soup was prepared very well. My mom said her salad was very average tasting. For dinner I had their speciality Dish, Chicken Filomena, and oh my gosh was it great! I ate the entire thing. I'm not even really into meals with mushrooms with them but this didn't disappoint. My mom said she enjoyed her chicken meal, the Valencia.
For dessert the server actually brought out a tray to preview the selections, which was pretty cool. I got the Chocolate Mouss Oreo and my mom got a canoli with her four course. My cake was perfect! I rarely eat cake but I would totally get it again. And for their bread, the regular bread was OK but they had a seasoned one which was charming.
Our bill came to just over $70. Giving a fair rating seems difficult. I was pretty upset we had been placed in the bar area expecting a better setting. But some of the food was quite excellent, such as the cake. I suppose this is more or less a place to just take out from. Get that Oreo cake though.
