UPDATE: We tried again and visited for Sunday breakfast. Table of a large group of people across from us had been waiting 1hr and 30 minutes for their breakfast to come out and were getting pretty upset. Can't blame them.
They were short handed which caused them not to be able to handle the customer flow properly. Employees blamed it on the large table and lack of help. But I got half of my order before the big table even got one of their orders. That did not look good and the big table noticed it too. Then 30 minutes more passed after getting half my order the big table started getting their food but we were still waiting for the rest of my order and my husbands order. The place was now getting very busy unlike when we had first arrived.
Since the restaurant was so busy and struggling we decided to just cancel the rest of our order, paid for what we received, tipped the waiter and left.
I noticed others that came in left as well. They were getting more help coming in but it was a little too late. So sad. Especially since the other breakfast restaurant is now closed. They could take advantage of that.
Not sure if we will give a third chance but it sure will not be soon.
Good Luck to them and I hope they can turn things around as our little town needs a good breakfast location.
2/2/25 We have been here several times before for both dinner and breakfast. The burgers are really good and breakfast too.
However we went on a Sunday morning and it was just after 11 AM. We were planning on having breakfast but we were told that they stop serving breakfast at 11AM. The server even went and checked with the cook to see if they could still make breakfast as it was only like 15 or 20 minutes after 11AM. The cook told the server everything was put away and breakfast cannot be served.
I was taken by surprise. On the weekends, especially Sunday, many people eat breakfast from morning until mid afternoon. Some wait until after church, etc.
What a disappointment! Needless to say we paid for our drinks we had ordered and left. So we went down the road to our least favorite restaurant to get pancakes.
Each time we have dined in here the service was not the best. What I mean by this is that the employees do not seem very friendly or happy you are there. I have yet to understand why. Is it because if they know you they are more friendly, employees are unhappy or is this a management training opportunity? I would think management would want to encourage an atmosphere where every patron is treated as a "Neighborhood" friend. So sad after all it is the "Neighborhood House Bar and Grill" and the food is good.
Just because they are busy most of the time, management should never think they do not need to continually motivate employees to ensure a neighborhood friendly atmosphere. My past years of retail and restaurant upper management I encouraged employees to always treat a patron as if they were a long lost friend that came to visit.
I hope management reconsiders the weekend breakfast by extending the hours into brunch.
At this point we will go other places for...
Read moreArrived right around 5pm on Friday 8/5/23. Should have known better when I asked what was on the nachos, and even after asking another employee came back and told me lettuce, tomato, onion not really nachos, but okay. Two people, we each ordered an appetizer and a sandwich. For me mac n cheese bites and a hot dog, for him an olive burger sub American cheese and broccoli bites. His order came out, nothing for me even though we ordered at the same time. I asked about my food, to be told that it wasn't put in. When I got my mac n cheese bites they were cold in the middle. My hot dog came out with fries after not ordering fries.. Even though I pointed out to the male server that it was a $2 upcharge for fries when he asked what side was wanted with the burger, he claimed he had never seen that before. I told him whatever comes with the burger. When the bill comes? $2 upcharge for each order of fries we didn't ask for or order, and a $1 upcharge to swap the Swiss cheese out for American?!? Never ever again. Awful service, sub par food, oh and I didn't eat the fries that I didn't ask for but paid for. They should refund my money and actually train their staff. No place to add a photo or two of the bill and what was left...
