The locals seem to love it here, but my 1 experience with it proved mediocre at best with poor service.
The prices you see online are much lower than what's on the printed menu, but even that is inaccurate with no indication of an increase. Every item rang up a dollar more expensive than what's listed on the menu by the register. Not wanting to be "that guy" with a line of people behind me when paying for my order, I didn't question the math, but after sitting down with the receipt, I noticed the total was $5 more than it should have been. When I went back and asked about it, the response was "because of inflation my boss told me to point at this fine print" that said 'prices subject to change without notice', but there was no apology for not giving any warning about the higher prices. Also, they charge a $2 plastic fee for using a card. I get it on all of these things, but expect a decent business to give a verbal warning about issues like this.
Both while in line and at another point while approaching the register, I spoke with locals who were saying the place was amazing and the people working there deserved to be tipped more. Maybe it usually is, but we didn't have a good time there. One even asked if Rico was around, suggesting the owner/namesake is often available to give personalized service, but I heard that he's currently out of town.
The food was alright, with what seemed like fine ingredients, but it was difficult to evaluate it properly due to being extremely cold. Even though we ordered our food for dine in and were sitting within 20 feet of the register, they forgot we existed and had our food sitting out for likely over 20 minutes without letting us know it was ready. Meanwhile other dine in customers had their food brought to the dining room and their names called out. We waited over 50 minutes before I approached the register and asked if I could at least get the glass of water I was promised and our bread sticks. The lady apologized about forgetting about us and grabbed our food off of an open surface in the back, who knows how long it had been out like that. She also offered for me to take some soda as compensation for the inconvenience, which I appreciate as a gesture, but would have just preferred they reheat our food. I never got the glass of water I had asked for.
It was a busy Saturday evening, so I get it and tried to be nice (probably erring on the side of too nice and trusting) about all these issues, but in the end, this was a disappointing and...
Read moreLet me start by saying I LOVE their food. (Attached are pics of the cheese sticks, cinnamon sticks, Caribbean pizza, and American Meat. They're all delicious!
I have only ordered a couple other times before right when they've opened and I haven't had issues with waiting
Yesterday, a Saturday, we decided to order for pickup. We called at 450pm, a guy told us 45 to an hour wait. They didn't ask for our name. I called back to give my name. This time a chick said 20mins.
We still went after 45 mins. Show up and stand at the counter FOREVER before someone came to ask my name. They looked, couldn't find it so came to ask my order. They didn't come back. After another 10-15 or so, they come ask AGAIN what my order was. Then I noticed it seemed they hadn't started it even though it was well passed an hour. I decided to make some order changes (I wanted to come back again for lunch the next day but decided to just order it now because the wait was insane).
Anyway, the order comes and they only give me part. I tell them the rest of it, they brought 1 more thing. I told them again what else was missing (seriously, how many times do you need to repeat and order?!). Got my food after 1.5 hours +. They were too busy to answer other people's calls. But honestly, they weren't cranking out that much food.
I think their main issue is organization. If they fix this, they'll thrive!
I'd still go back, but plan 2 hours ahead next time and urge yall to...
Read moreThis is our second visit here and the pizza was undercooked. So we took it back in and they said they would just throw it back in the oven and we said that that was fine. Then they told me that they re-made the whole pizza. The person who took our order and made the pizza the first time made our replacement pizza. They made it wrong, even thought the first one was perfect it was just too doughy. Not only was it wrong but they burnt it.. when I brought the pizza back, she asked what was wrong with it, i told her 'what do you mean? You burnt it' she told me that she 'was told to burnt it'. I had bought some souvenirs from the store so that I could tip them for remaking the pizza for us before we got the pizza. We got a burt pizza that wasnt even the same as the one we ordered. We waited for not 1, but 2 pizzas that were messed up by the restaurant staff. Then, when they're half an hour from closing, they say they won't even make our pizza right. I had to Almost argue with Monica to be able to get a refund because she said her boss would kill her if she gives a refund after messing up twice. So after getting our refund we go back to the same pizza place where there are pizzas genuinely good and now if they see me or you know I call in an order and it's my usual pizza order it's either upcharge or made...
