Golden Bakery Coffee and Donuts — Restaurant in Golden Township

My family ate there a couple of times on vacation....in short, the food is excellent, very overpriced and the staff does not know good customer service. The staff is friendly, but it was as if it was everyone's first time working in food service. For example, when my pizza was done, they shouted my name from the middle of the kitchen. That's fine, but wouldn't it make more sense to walk to the edge of the dining area where people are waiting and call their name?

Doughnuts - Great! Nothing special, but they are made fresh daily. Fudge - This was also good. Coffee - Never again. My wife paid $5 for keurig/tassimo coffee. Salads - Great! The chef and taco salads were top notch! Taco pizza - Never again. A small taco pizza was listed for $15.50. It's really worth half that. For $15.50 I was expecting it to be piled high with toppings, loaded with cheese and meat. It was not. Don't order this. Cheese pizza - My kids loved it, but it's really hard to screw up cheese pizza so I won't give you...

Horrible experience here! Placed order, got all but my son's sub. Watched others get their food who ordered way after us, so I went to counter to ask where the sub was (15 minutes after ordering!). Was told they were finishing it up. Brought it out, 3 minutes later, warm and toasted, but chicken was RAW and still FROZEN! "Mercedes" just never put the order in!!!! Went to counter and told the girl it not only took 15 minutes, but was cold and raw, and "Erica" said to me "Okay, I didn't make the sub so you don't have to get an attitude with me!" WHAT??? WHAT THE ??? Are you KIDDING me? My kid could have bitten right into that and gotten ill!!!! I told "Erica" I'm the customer, and I KNOW it wasn't HER fault but you NEVER say that to a customer! WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN, and I will TELL EVERYONE I KNOW THAT GOES TO SILVER LAKE TO STAY AWAY FROM THAT PLACE!!!...

For the price pizza was average and had very few toppings. We could barely find the ham on our Hawaiian pizza. We needed a quick dinner to take to the beach and had never been here before. It took about 20 min to get the pizza which wasn't bad at all. I was asked if two plates would be enough. There were three of us so I was confused. I asked my child if he would be ok without a plate and he said no so a third was added. We were given the mini pizza in a semi open sleeve to go. Had to ask for napkins because there were none in sight to take. If you need quick food and aren't being picky it serves the purpose. Wouldn't go out of our way to stop...
