Silver Scoops — Restaurant in Golden Township

I love everything about this place I don't even know where to start! Who doesn't love ice cream, right? But that's not all, they have amazingly delicious food! Silver Scoops has such a unique and creative menu that will not disappoint! They have so many options, I'm sure you will be able to find something to satisfy any palate, not to mention make you a repeat customer like us. I seriously don't know how they make the food so freaking good and believe me, I've tried to recreate the their food. We get so excited every spring because we have literally been craving the pulled pork nachos and brisket nachos all winter!

One day son got his favorite, the coconut shrimp, and he let me have one. It was so delicious and the fries were perfect, crisp on the outside and creamy potatoes inside! Yum! I kept trying to bribe him to get another coconut shrimp off his plate but he wouldn't budge. We were getting ice cream on 9/4/21 and we watched 2 employees come out in front of us gathering with a friend of theirs that had ordered ice cream ahead of us. This friend had a medium sized dog and these 2 employees got down on theirs knees and went crazy over this dog petting it.. Which is completely fine, but when I watched through the window to see if they had washed their hands, it was a definite NO! I observed for the fact that it was our ice cream they were preparing. Not only did they not wash hands but never changed their aprons after playing with the dog. As a small business owner who owns a resturant and handles food safety I know that was a huge NO NO! I politely said something and the girl waiting on us said Skyler this lady wants you to wash your hands. She argued saying she did, but we could clearly see she came back in and started preparing the next order, which was ours. As she handed me our ice cream she said I washed them in the back, very rudely. So where do I start off…well the owners are quite the couple (I would know because I use to work there about 2 years ago) .Derrick has some of the worst anger issues ever know..throwing stuff around and punching whatever is in sight…on the other hand Andrea and Doug “the cook” thinks its cute to talk bad about the employees to other employees. A good amount of us knew about it but didn't say anything cause we were just trying to make money…regardless kinda hard when they stole our tips and take the tips home?....
