Ashley's Diner — Restaurant in Goldsboro

If you are going to go low end, go to Waffle House because it's got to be better then this. The wait time for a less than half empty diner is unacceptable, it took more than 45 minutes before waitress casually walks by and apologizing for the long wait time. They could and should've offered us some toast or biscuit while we were waiting so long. When food finally arrived it was awful. The home fries were sliced potatoes that had been deep fried like potato chips but very greasy like fresh cut very wet potatoes thrown in a deep fryer. I requested extra crispy in my order but as you see in the picture they couldn't even get that correct. My western omelette was paper thin and contained 98% wet tomatoes and lots of long stringy onions and big chunks of pepper. I guess mincing is a word that isn't in their kitchen. My poor husband smoked sausage was as he called a "slim Jim" it was dried out and way over cooked. We guessed it just sits on the grill till someone might order it. Bring a jacket you will need it!! Don't use the restrooms, I'm not sure if they forgot they had restrooms! Either they have not been cleaned or updated but the floors look they have never been cleaned properly and it's TP is something like the towels they aren't in cases to keep clean. I couldn't believe they kept the TP on floor. I really can only say our waitress was friendly and our table was clean that is about where the good ends...

Experience was horrible. Our order was taken and we waited over 30 minutes to never eat. The waitress never came back to even check on us. I called to speak to owner whom was very rude and gave me the excuse that to go orders are prepared before inside dining customers. She never apologized for the long wait or addressed the fact that her waitress never came back to check on us or convey the wait was longer than normal. Serving/customer service is not rocket science....it's all about communication!!!! Ashley's displayed today they dont know how to do either. The owner should be more aware of her customers. She socialized with the other diners and should have made it a priority to convey to other diners that their food was not forgotten and wait times had increased. Just horrible!!!!! I guess if you're not a regular...you're not important enough to be acknowledged. I'm pregnant and craved for something from there and left so disappointed!!!! Definitely will not be returning or recommending for family when they come in town. Dee's Diner is where I'll keep going....it's worth...

I have eaten here 4 times. The first three times I would definitely give 5 out of 5 stars but this last time that I was here. I waited so long for service that I actually asked the woman that was with me if she was ready to go. She said yes. I turn to get up out of the seat when I noticed the waitress about 5 ft away heading straight for the table. So we decided to stay. She took our food and drink order & disappeared. A different way just brought off food & I told her we never got our drinks. When she came back with the drinks I told her this is not the food that we ordered. Are we just came back to check on us & I told her everything was not alright. After finally getting the correct food & eating. I had to talk to someone about getting my check. Needless to say I left her no tip. If I ever do go back I will make sure she is not my waitress. I will change tables in a...
