We just got home from Chispa. We took our order to go. I'll be as detailed as I can.
What we ordered - Chicken Burrito Chicken Burrito with Guac The Purple Tea Tres Leches Large Mac and Cheese
The Food- It was absolutely ALL good. We didn't dislike ANYTHING. We will absolutely return because ti was delicious. Tres Leches is my fave dessert and they serve some of the best I have ever had. The mac and cheese has some delicious spices not found in a standard mac and cheese and it was so good. Little smoky almost, but just so delicious. The burritos were HUGE and FULL. I LOVE the tortillas they use because its the kind that really seal shut. We were also offered some samples of their sauces. They are killer! I personally LOVED the Chipotle based sauce. The Jalapeno sauce is very mild, minimal jalapeno flavour but a great sauce overall. The Habenero is an amazing amount of flavor and heat. If you like some extra spice it gives you all you could want.
The Service- We were greeted the moment we walked in. Asked if we had been there before. We answered no and we were walked through the menu and explained exactly how things worked. As someone with severe social anxiety and a lot of anxiety about trying new things: this was amazing. It made the ordering process so easy and a lot of my questions were answered before I ever had to ask them. We were offered two drink samples, a tea and a horchata. Both were amazing and we opted to purchase a tea. The two employees working the front counter were clear, and kind. I appreciated the conversation while we waited on our food. They are freshly opened as of two weeks ago and I htink they did great.
The Price- We paid about $38 for the food we ordered. I, personally, think that it was a GREAT price. Two mains, a large side, a dessert, and a drink for $38 is more than fair for the amount of food we got. We will both get two meals out of the size of those burritos and the mac and cheese. and I'll be hording the dessert haha.
The Atmosphere- The decor is great and brightly colored and interesting to look at. It's a clean looking counter and a decent amount of seating for the size of the location. We opted to take our food to go as we live nearby but we would love to hanve lunch seated here if we didnt. The music was fun and on theme, and not too loud which is a big bonus for us.
Overall- I couldnt recommend them enough. I hope they get on Uber Eats soon. We will right around the corner from them and get and Uber Eats credit with our credit cards. I'd be more than happy to spend my money here over and over. We have a few food options in the area but NOTHING like this. We mostly have fast food joints that lack quality, but this was great food, price, service, and atmosphere. If youre considering it, try it. You really wont be disappointed.
Note: Id recommend the burrito for anyone with autism or who has mouthfeel aversions. It is very homogenous and flavour full. Not rogue hard bites or any...
Read moreMy fiancé and I were leaving Food Lion when one of their employees came outside and suggested that we dine in. My husband and I order and shared their half chicken, mac and cheese, maduros, and a Jamaica drink for $21. The chicken was delicious, seasoned well. My fiancé enjoyed their maduros. I prefer tostones over maduros, so he tore those up. The Jamaica was delicious too, and wasn’t too sweet. They offered us three of their salsas. A green and creamy jalapeños salsa, a chipotle salsa, and their homemade picante salsa. All three enhanced the flavor of the chicken. The mac and cheese was seasoned well but could use more cheese. It looked like it was cooked in a cheese sauce, and if it was topped off with more cheese, all the food would be a 5/5 Star. We live close so we will be back for sure. Wishing the business nothing but success. This is a wonderful location for this restaurant and the...
Read moreGreat food and was prepared in front of you. You’re able to make adjustments (add or subtract) anything you wouldn’t want in your bowel. You definitely get your money’s worth! Big portions where you have enough for the next meal if you want! Staff was very pleasant, courteous, and attentive! Place was clean and well organized. I ended up ordering the Chispa Rice Bowel with a large fried plantain, I can say the plantains were the best I’ve had since a longtime!! (They used ripped plantains and fried like they should be with the crisp edges, not bitter at all) Also got a Jamaica and that was made perfect also, most places are bitter this was sweeten just right! I will be back very soon, glad to have a new homemade food restaurant...
