Customers beware!! My friend and I decided to go to breakfast at this establishment Saturday morning 26 August 2023. My friend ordered french toast and hash browns and I ordered streak and eggs sunny side up. After a long wait her food was delivered and about 8 minutes later my food was delivered but wasn't even what I ordered! The waiter said I'm sorry and took the wrong plate over to the correct customer and brought my plate back from them to me. All better right? So, it's okay in this establishment to drop off your food to the wrong customer leaving it unattended by staff mind you!! Not directly from the kitchen but to another customer in the store!! That breathed all over it for who knows how long then the waiter took the plate away from them brought that plate to me!! In about less than 30 seconds. Do the math here. Gets even better!! Her french bread was okay. Her hash browns were not even cooked on both sides and tasted like a plastic container. She couldn't even eat them!! On to my food. My hash browns were lightly browned on one side and not even cooked on the other. Streak was okay. My eggs were sunny side raw to the point where the whole surface of the egg was runny and clear!! Not cooked!! We were hungry and we needed to get home. She ate the french toast I ate my entire plate. Didn't eat anything else prior to breakfast that day or after. As a 59-year-old I should have recognized the disconnect between the cook and the waiter I didn't. I failed to refuse both dishes for uncooked food and cross contamination. Thankfully my friend did not suffer the same fate I did!! Food poisoning!! I have slept about 6 hours in the past few days, diarrhea and severe stomach pains. Still not better today. That's three days ago!! Getting better slowly. Thank God!! The customer should not take the responsibility for contaminated food. In saying that. This message is directed toward management for failing to hire qualified and competent staff. I hope this information helps the management make better decisions in their hiring, training and quality control practices in the future. Gary Tumminia...
Read moreOn our journey back to New England, we stumbled upon this diner that turned out to be the hidden gem of our trip. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a team of staff who treated us like long-lost friends rather than just passing travelers. The warmth and friendliness of everyone we encountered made all the difference, transforming our quick stop into an experience we’ll cherish.
The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we felt completely at ease, as if we were regulars. They took the time to chat with us, share stories, and make sure we had everything we needed. Their genuine care and attention to detail were evident in every interaction—whether it was a quick refill of our sweet tea, a recommendation from the menu, or just checking in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. They truly made us feel like we were right at home, not strangers at all.
Speaking of the meal, it was absolutely fantastic! The baby back ribs were cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, and the collard greens were seasoned just right, a true Southern classic. We also indulged in the mac and cheese bites, which were a crispy, cheesy delight, and the hush puppies were a revelation—golden and delicious with the perfect crunch. The rolls were warm, soft, and buttery, and the sweet tea was the best we’ve ever had, perfectly refreshing and just the right sweetness.
But as good as the food was, it was the incredible staff that made our visit truly special. They infused the place with a sense of warmth and community that you just don’t find everywhere. It was clear they took pride in what they do, and that pride shone through in every aspect of our experience.
This diner offers more than just a meal—it offers a slice of Southern hospitality that stays with you long after you’ve left. If you’re ever passing through, make sure to stop by. The food will satisfy your hunger, but it’s the wonderful people working there who will leave...
Read more(Occurred on 4/21/23)Been coming here for a while always got great service but one of the waitresses who’s name I didn’t get but she’s ancient and decrepit decided to briefly argue with me over a cheese omelet when I ordered sausage I know ordered this because I happen to be on a phone call and person heard my order when I asked about this she said “ no baby you said cheese” and took it upon herself to go back and forth with me over it instead of just taking care of the customer immediately and taking it back she took it upon herself to argue about it for a few minutes, and then offered to take it back, which I thought was unprofessional again this should’ve happened immediately upon me, saying, I said of meat or sausage omelette or whatever the omelette was, but cheese was definitely not what I asked for I told her it was OK because at this point I was over it (I didn’t want to be that person because I work in retail so I understand having to deal with that person) so after that, she then went to the lady at the counter and began to badmouth me and tell her about the situation. I know this because I could easily hear her talking about it if you’re going to talk about somebody, make sure the person doesn’t hear you (I pride myself on being a gentleman and conducting myself in such a manner so again, I didn’t want to be that person !) she then went outside I’m assuming because she was so upset about it came back in and sarcastically said “baby” how’s that cheese omelette this absolutely wasn’t needed and showed her absolute unprofessionalism… but I love the food, the atmosphere and the overall service I just won’t be going back to the Crypt keepers section but hey she did keep my cup of sweet tea full! so thanks for that! And the tea was absolutely delicious. Whoever makes it deserves a raise! the rest of the waitresses are absolutely awesome. This one needs to be put out to...
