Wanda's — Restaurant in Goldsboro

I decided to dine in and I ordered the new menu item hamburger steak. This meal came with two sides, two small rolls, and a drink for $8.80 with tax. That was the good part. The hamburger steak was good, the mashed potatoes came from a box and we're very thin and nearly flavorless had it not been for the gravy that was extremely thin also. The rolls were tender and my second side was string beans. The string beans could have used more flavor and I've never seen French style green beans added to a hamburger steak menu, but a bean is a bean. You could have your choice of sodas or iced tea but they happen to be out of the unsweet tea. I found that sitting at the counter and eating the food was more like scooping it into your mouth because the bar was so high and the chair was so low that my mouth wasn't too high above the plate. I could have gone and sat at the tables on the other side of the room but I wanted to sit somewhere where I could talk to somebody while I was there and Melissa was a very nice lady and I enjoyed her company. The plate and utensils were disposable. The food was done very quickly so I got the impression the meat was being kept warm as were the vegetables and gravy and we're not fresh. I might try it again to see if my suggestions for the gravy and the mashed potatoes made any difference because if they don't change the way they were prepared I don't think I would return unless it was to try a different item. Melissa did say they were going to be having spaghetti casserole so I might try that. Wanda's is an excellent bar & grill. Wanda is a wonderful person & a friend to all. The bartenders are very friendly. The patrons are pleasant & everyone's a friend. The atmosphere is nice & laid back.

Their are TV's all around the room, a great selection of music, six pool tables, games, frequent parties, an outdoor patio with privacy fence, good service, good food including a daily meal special, soft drinks, beer, mixed drinks, fair prices, a safe & casual environment, etc.

The bottom line is that Wanda's is a great place to spend time & hang out...

If u could give this place 0 stars. I would . I don’t recommend going to this place especially if your Hispanic people make you feel like your less , me and my friend decided to dine in, and people were giving us so many dirty looks , the whole time we were there , I guess we should’ve know as soon as we got there , it was mostly just old white people we didn’t really care at first, but then after a while they started giving us looks as if we were doing something wrong.
