I'll start by saying we have eaten here many times when it was Cornerstone Cafe and loved it. It now has different owners. They were friendly but it took a while for them to get the food out to us. I was going to order the smallest size 10 in* pizza but she told me they were out of that size so I guess they freeze their crust. So I decided on something else. We both got meat and 3. My husband ordered country fried steak with gravy, southern greens (turnip greens), mashed potatoes, and a small salad with ranch. I ordered liver and onions (requested sauteed instead of breaded), stewed carrots, corn casserole, and salad. First of all they did not bring us silverware with our food and our salad did not come before the meal rather after that brought out other food. Hubby enjoyed the country fried steak and the potatoes. The turnip greens did not have much flavor (canned morning glory would have been better). Hubby said it would have been nice if salad was cold. Overall hubby thought it was ok but nothing to write home to mom about. When my plate came out did not look appetizing. I actually thought my carrots were baked apples because of how dark they looked. Upon further inspection they were carrots. The carrots tasted like they had dug them out of a day old roast and carrot pot and also tasted over cooked. The liver was chewy and tasted deep fried instead of sauteed. The onions were crunchy. The salad was ok but the blue cheese dressing was runny and no chunks of blue cheese. (They had previously had a salad bar that was great in the past) Now let's talk about the corn casserole. This did not seem like a casserole to me. It was like squash and corn and also scorched. Overall my food was terrible and no where near the quality it was with previous owners. If we eat there again we will get the pizza. My husband asked about it and they said they didn't change that recipe from the original. We have enjoyed that in the past. Our food was around $30. I certainly have no problem paying that if the food is of good quality. These meals were more around a $20 price point if you ask me. When they brought out the recipt it did not show the total...
Read moreWell I might be a bit biased here, Lol.. My daughter works here. And I've always loved this location. Your less than a mile off interstate 40 East bound. Being from a small community, it's really great when you can have a local business thrive well. So easy in and out, great location. The atmosphere is blissful. The young ladies are all hustling around smiling and being friendly and unbelievably crazy respectful manners. Every single time I've stopped by to see my kiddo, they speak/treat me as a family member. The location, atmosphere, folks at BB's Bistro are all awesome. My apologies for the food though, I've yet to eat here. So I cannot rate on the food. Truly sorry I haven't made the time yet, but I will soon. And I'll update my review for BB's Bistro. I will say though, if they put into their cooking the way they treat customers. I'm willing to wager it's pretty darn delicious.. As I said though, Location, Atmosphere, and friendly, upbeat, and super respectful staff make this a place to check out. Ohh my goodness I almost forgot the homemade desserts. Cakes, pies I did get a butterfinger slice of cake to take with me one day when I stopped in, it...
Read moreWe weren’t even supposed to be on I-40, but a canceled flight routed us to Nashville and a rental car. Needless to say, our moods were…darkened. BB’s billboard along the road piqued our interest, so we gave it try for lunch. Call it God or the Universe—we got exactly what we needed when we walked through the door. Debe greeted us so warmly an observer might have thought us old friends. She gave us perfect advice on menu selections and handed us over to Sydney, who gave us the exact friendliness that Debe had. And the menu! He chose the catfish; I ordered the regular hamburger. We are catfish snobs—only the best will do—and this fish was definitely among the very best. Light breading crisped nicely on light, flaky fish. My burger tasted like my mom had made it—a thick, delicious patty, crisp onions and pickles. Attentive service and delicious sides (coleslaw, beans, onion rings—all freshly made in house) sent us back on the highway with satisfied stomachs and hearts. I sure hope we travel this way again. And you should make a point of...
