Our first time here and your service left so much to be desired. Slow and inattentive to the point of embarrassing. Food was OK: T-bone steak was super thin -- like 1/4 inches thick if that -- which thankfully the server warned us about so we ordered that a shade note rare. T-bone arrived with a huge scoop of unmelted butter on top -- what's with that? I ordered prime rib medium rare and received a rare piece that had a strap of gristle so thick I could barely cut with a steak knife. Baked potatoes were not hot. Had to walk up today the counter in order to get our server's attention and ask her to microwave the potato. We ordered coffee to warm up when first we arrived and for some reason, server would only pour us 1/2 cup. We had to flag down our server for the one refill we received. Again, half cups only. I witnessed a woman standing and waiting at the counter to pay, neither server acknowledged her when they were also at the counter. I saw no nod, no smile, heard no "I'll be right with you in a moment", no "sorry for the wait". Nothing. The woman was visibly frustrated. Every so often, she would look back at her dinner companion and shrug her shoulders, shake her head, and throw her hands up in frustration. Four times I witnessed the servers passed by the woman with no acknowledgment, and each time, the woman would watch, sigh heavily, and shake her head as the servers walked past her. We finished our less than stellar dinner and waited for our bill and a final coffee refill that never came. We finally walked up to the register area and stood in line behind the woman. We asked her if she had been acknowledged at all. She said emphatically NO! She said her to-go orders had been sitting in the window for a long time and we both looked up at the styrofoam boxes melting under the heat lamp and laughed. A few minutes later, a waitress finally rang her up and handed her the to-go order. No apologies. A country restaurant like this can get away with quite a bit as long as the staff are attentive and friendly. But all charm is lost when customers go acknowledged.
Friendly advice: Please pour FULL cups of hot coffee as requested by cold guests like us who come in out of the rain to warm up. When you pour coffee for one table, look around to see if other coffee drinkers in your restaurant are hoping you will fill their cups too. And even when you are busy, please flash a smile, a nod, and acknowledge people who are waiting for you. We know when you are busy and we can understand. But we don't like to be treated as if we are invisible when you pass...
Read moreHorrible experience!!! Was my grandsons birthday. Went there for dinner sat down and waited until we were acknowledged after 10 minutes or so finally got water. Tattooed waitress then sat tray with used glasses next to me on table the whole time we were there. She took care of other people that got there after us first it was like we were invisible / finally got menu Ordered and then waited an hour and fifteen minutes for food finally. Then served everyone but the birthday boy I went up to get extra plates for little ones in high chairs which she never asked if we needed anything I asked where the mac and cheese was and she argued with me about how dare I be upset that my grandson whose birthday it was was only one without food By this. Time he had tears in his eyes / she told me to go sit down!!!I stood my ground and finally the one cook put pre made mac and cheese in microwave. REALLY!!! He had to wait for that when it only took a few seconds to heat up !!!! Shame on them!!!!! We all should have been served at same time. By now everything was ruined. My grandson was too upset he ate 2 bites I couldn't eat. I was to upset. My daughter and granddaughter only ate a couple bites. As rude as she was she should be fired. She made a little boy cry on his birthday Not a sorry or any apology just the bill for $41. For food we couldn't even eat. By time grandson got to car was still upset and had stomach ache. What a mean horrible woman!!!! I have lived in this area 40 years. and have never met such an awful person and horrible...
Read moreCame for the first time since they opened. 5pm on Saturday August 23 2025. The restaurant was empty. Maybe4ppl in the bar. Now i know why. Ordered the hot turkey dinner and dinner chicken fried steak. We had 2 side salads, loaded baker, and rice pilaf. Gizzards. 2 waters and 1 blackberry iced tea. Cost ~$66. Gizzards were fine. Both side salads had dirt or grit in them from not being washed before cutting. The chicken fried steak looks like a prefabed patty though their menu claims "our house tenderized cube steak". Gravy was fine for both cfs and turkey. The rice pilaf was mushy and tasteless. The veggies were the sysco medley, boiled and bland. Hot Turkey dinner was fine but they forgot the canned cranberry. The upcharged loaded baked potato only came with cheese and bacon bits. We asked if it came with butter or sour cream. Server said, people waste it so we don't give it out unless you ask. No one came to refill our drinks. We had to go up and ask. Remember the restaurant was empty with a host and server, and some ppl at the bar. The place is separated down the middle. Bar on the left and restaurant on the right. If you're driving out here thinking your getting trailhead food or service, nope. Doesnt seem like there was much thought put into the menu. I say bring back the fish tacos and argula salads. Ill come back in a few months and see if dinner gets better. Not a good start for a new business. Food or...
