New England Pizza & Restaurant — Restaurant in Granby

We reserved a room for a private gathering following a funeral. Even though this was a sad event, the staff at New England Pizza made sure our experience there was the best it could possibly be. I spoke with Manny several times planning the event. He was an communicator, very fair, and extremely accommodating. All guests thoroughly enjoyed the food, which consisted of a variety of pizzas, salads, pasta, chicken parmesan, and garlic bread. We were given pitchers of different kinds of soda and water, so everyone could fill their own glasses as needed. The food was set up, buffet style. The staff was on top of everything but they were not at all intrusive. They just wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of. We really like this restaurant. It is very homey, the food is tasty, and the staff has always been very nice. We went today, expecting significantly higher prices due to COVID and the war, but were pleasantly surprised to find prices remained the same. Portions are generous, large selection and reasonably priced. We took a party of 7 there last year on the way to the airport. everyone had something different, and everyone liked what they got. Have been back several more time. Always good! I had the lunch portion of fried clams. Lots of tasty clams and fries. Always ending up taking some home. At 4:00 on a Tuesday with no one else in the restaurant the service took over 30 minutes for pizza, a side salad, and “garlic bread”. The pizza was very similar to any major chain, nothing special or tasty- very greasy. The salad had brown lettuce edges, clearly not freshly cut, the garlic bread was grocery store Italian bread with some melted butter and chopped garlic. Booth was dirty when we sat down- again restaurant was empty except us- clearly there was time to clean the booth just no effort. The check was not brought to our table we needed to go up and ask for it. Two out of three water glasses had debris in them -one a chunk of food, the other a black thread.
