Food and service was good. There was a lively group a few tables over that were ...happy. The sound did fill the restaurant. However, our experience previously was not as loud. They were simply having a (very) good time and the acoustics of the restaurant seemed to elevate the volume. Hurricane Hole is pretty! The dining area is spotless clean, bright, has a bit of an upscale feel. The staff are super friendly and attentive without being "hovering". The food is good. We both had the (grilled) shrimp and (fried) fish. I'd prefer a bit more seasoning to my fried fish, but it was good. It's just a personal preference...nothing wrong with the food. I didn't want to go there that night because I didn't have time to stop and change clothes. However, there are people in casual dressy to shorts and t-shirts. You can dress up or go casual. Prices... So, I do find some things a bit pricey. (Expect to pay $25 to $50 for an entrée...not bad) However...you are on an island. If you want nice things, you have to pay a little more. I don't find the prices to be outrageous. They definitely aren't stopping us from eating there almost every visit. They weren't open on the nights we were there the previous two trips. Which brings me to their hours of operation.... I don't know. LOL Every time we go, it seems they have changed hours and/or days open. My guess is the seasons and the available staff. But if you want a nice sit-down dinner and...if you can get there on an open night, before 8pm, it's worth a visit. We...

I was excited to try this place. From what I read the reviews were great. However, I was pretty disappointed. The restaurant is small and when it's crammed with people, it is very loud. I had to ask to be moved outside because it was so loud! The balcony seating was no better. They crammed many tables onto a skinny balcony. We were the only table out there yet they put us right next to the stairs to get downstairs. Didn't realize it at the time that it would be an issue, but throughout our meal, several guests had to squeeze past our table to get to the stairs. Also there are no fans for the summer heat on the patio. The waitress said that they had been asking for fans. Why on earth there weren't fans installed when they built/opened is beyond me...hello, south Louisiana is HOT! The prices were a little ridiculous as well. I believe the cheapest entrée was $18. All I wanted was a fried shrimp plate. That was $21 and the shrimp were so pale I honestly thought that I was given grilled or boiled shrimp. I can get WAY better shrimp plates and MUCH better prices here in Lafayette! They got my daughter's order wrong and brought seasoned vegetables with her entrée...I thought, no biggie, I can try out their veggies. By seasoned they must have meant black pepper because that was all I tasted! I honestly didn't enjoy one thing about...

Giving 3 stars only for the food. We came to visit from out of town and saw this restaurant on our way home. We stopped by around 2:45, walked in and the waitress rolled her eyes while seating us. Should’ve left at that moment. Waited 15 minutes before someone came over to take our drink order. The waitress was nice, but I can’t give her credit because she didn’t give us her name. We ordered our food and while waiting for everything to come out, we heard the staff repeatedly saying they were ready to leave. Apparently, the restaurant closes at 2:00pm and reopens at 5:00pm. We had no clue. If they were closed when we arrived, why did they seat us. Our waitress came out of the kitchen yelling at the staff , NO MORE ORDERS. If you all want to leave, we have to get these tables out of here and clean everything. We felt very rushed and overall it was an unpleasant experience. Again, the food was delicious, but the staff needs to work on complaining behind...

Had an amazing afternoon visiting the Hurricane Hole marina, marina bar, & restaurant! Enjoyed cocktails while watching the super fancy yachts come & go thru the marina & chatting with the anglers there for a spearfishing rodeo. Finished with dinner in the restaurant with top notch service from Shana who went out of her way to replicate a cocktail that I didn't realize was not on the menu (it was only offered at the marina bar, where we had just been). The crab cake appetizer is an absolute must! Hubby & I shared a fried fish/shrimp dinner that was fried to perfection as well. Love to see this type of business thriving on the island! 💗🌴

Beautiful saltwater pool and the owner is just awesome. It’s got a full restaurant, a separate sports bar, a hotel and a marina. A great place. The owners and staff are all extremely knowledgeable in the local fishing and entertainment scene. They are more than happy to engage you in pleasant conversation and can direct you in the local culture or put you on good fishing advice for the time of year. Highly recommended…

The Hurricane Hole was a fun place to visit and eat after our afternoon on the beach. The service was good. The waiter was friendly. We were seated quickly even though it was busy. we ordered our food to go so we could sit downstairs in the open and listen to the live singer. It was a little on the expensive side but a very enjoyable afternoon.
