I'm not one to leave bad reviews. I hate doing that, but unfortunately this was just the opposite of what I expected. Take in mind, I'm not even a picky eater, and am pretty easily pleased. But, this experience was probably one of the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. I really don't see how this place has so many 5 star reviews.
When walking in the building, it smells like smoke and mustiness (I didn't see a smoking area at all inside). I tend to get really bad headaches when being exposed to both. But, for a steak, I thought I'd just suck it up.
The table and booth I was seated at was not very clean.
The food is pretty expensive for the area it was in. Yes, even for a steakhouse.
For the price, I was expecting some amazing steak and food period. It was very far from it. The steak was cooked correctly. But, it was gamey, lacked flavor, and had a not so great after taste. Overall, definitely not a good cut of meat. The salad that came with it was cheap in quality as well. It came with bread that looked like French toast, that actually had a good buttery flavor. The meal was supposed to come with a side a vegetable too, but it did not come. Overall, it was a very disappointing meal.
The place didn't look busy at all, and I hardly saw the waitress. That being said, she was nice.
For the first time ever, I won't be coming back to a restaurant. The food was just too cheap in quality, and overpriced for me. Especially for the area...
Read moreDINER BEWARE!!! How this place had a 4.3 star rating is beyond me. It’s a dark, dingy hole in the wall bar with Crown Royal bags hung over every available wall and ceiling space, which makes it feel very claustrophobic. I didn’t discount it’s potential just because of it’s appearance. I’ve had some great meals in bars like this over the years, but this has to be the worst bar food I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the Prime Rib sandwich and fries ($17.99) and I ordered the Country Fried Steak with vegetable of the day (a 3-bite portion of overcooked minced unidentifiable veg) and I upgraded from potato to fried mushrooms ($2.99). The “prime rib” was obviously a 3oz frozen patty of chopped beef that they didn’t even bother to break up on the grill served on “Texas toast” which was two pieces of toasted thin white bread. The au jus it came with was a barely colored tasteless clear liquid. The fries were soggy with grease. The Country Fried “Steak” was another frozen breaded chopped meat product that was the quality you would find in a school cafeteria. The fried mushrooms were tasteless and watery when you bit into them. The best part of this exorbitantly priced meal ($57 with tip) was the Pepsi we had to drink. The service was okay, but when I ask how their country fried steak was before ordering it, she blatantly lied “it’s good”. I would have been happier with...
Read moreNothing impressive and over priced. My husband and I went to a steak house that served only 3 choices of steak. The waitress on shift was more interested in the conversation she was having with a friend, the other employee's and the game going on the T.V.
I ordered a side salad that was $3.00! It literally was just lettuce and ranch, no tomatoes, cheese anything just lettuce for $3.00!!! This side salad was served to our table at least 5 minutes AFTER I recieved my entree. I almost told her I no longer wanted it. I ordered a garlic butter steak as well which was not bad the actual steak was juicy and good.
I feel that the service was terrible here and maybe the expierence would have been better with a different server. As I had said she was to busy with her interest and nothing of the customer. I had already finiished my meal and my pepsi was already completely gone and when she brought the check asked if I wanted a refill! Would have liked the refill with my meal but...
Once again OVERPRICED and BAD SERVICE. Kansas locals will not be returning. Tried to add a picture of salad but it...
