Javi’s Chicken and Churros review: First time trying today! So of course I had to try a bit of everything.

Carnitas and asada tacos: DELISH! 🙌 So much carne on the tacos and the tortillas were cooked perfectly! 🌮The salsa was too spicy for me, but the guacamole was really good… and I usually do NOT like guacamole! 🥑 Sides: rice, beans, Mac salad. All GREAT! 👌I’m super picky about macaroni salad and theirs is so good! I like having the whole beans instead of refried beans and the rice was nice and fluffy. 🍚 Churros: I got with chocolate and caramel sauce. I want that caramel sauce on EVERYTHING! It’s SO good! 🥰 the chocolate wasn’t my favorite. The churros themselves are cooked perfectly and so delicious. 😋 Ordering and Pickup: GREAT! 👍The server was super nice and food was ready within 15 minutes of me calling even though they were slammed!

The only thing I didn’t get to try today was the drinks and chicken. Overall it was AMAZING!! 🏆 I will definitely be a regular. ❤️

I haven't had anything bad off the menu. I love it all and I have tried a lot! Their chicken is so tender! My go-to: fish tacos & churros with mazapan. (I buy a few dozen to go too for the students in my classes!)

I see some bad reviews for their poor customer service on the phone and for their inconsistency of hours - all I know is I can't imagine running and stocking a restaurant in this crazy Covid time. How do you know how many people who should work and how much food to have on hand on a Tuesday night during the Covid Craze? We showed up with a group of 15 and they had to turn away people after us because they ran out of food. It happens.

I stopped in at Javi’s Chicken and Churros today, and wow… this place is a hidden gem in Grandview. The tacos were next-level—perfectly seasoned meat, fresh toppings, and tortillas that taste homemade. Every bite felt like it was made with care.

But what really stood out was the service. The team was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. You can tell they care about every guest’s experience, not just getting food out the door. That combination—flavor + hospitality—is rare and worth driving out of your way for.
