This is a great dinner style restaurant on the Northside. They consistently prepare great food which is hard to come by in Springfield. They have great friendly service. They are super fast with call in orders. If they tell you 10 minutes. Your order is ready in 10 minutes.
The western omlette is great and the Patty Melt is one of the best I have ever had. This is the only place in Springfield that knows how to correctly make hash browns. I said only and I meant it, I have been to every breakfast spot in this town and this is the only place that makes hash browns correctly. No restaurant on the West side can get it right, at all.
During COVID restrictions, they complied with every rule. Did not complain or bring lawsuits against the city and people supported them. Come visit this great Springfield restaurant that not only has great service, and great food but also are good citizens and good Illinoisans! Support a local business that is...
Read moreHubs and I had business in Springfield. We thought since we had some free time, we would sit and enjoy a drink until our appointment. The Restaurant was extremely noisy. Had to raise my voice just to talk to my husband sitting next to me. The waitress shouted across the room asking what we wanted to drink instead of coming to the table. Once we had our drinks, she didn't come back for 30 minutes. As we were getting ready to leave, she walks past the table, again not stopping, and asks if we want refills. I didn't answer because I didn't know if she was talking to me or another customer. She then returns to the soda machine and proceeds to fill two styrofoam cups with refills and plops them down on our table. To me this was rather unprofessional and rude. Those two teas cost over $5.00. Nothing like telling a customer it's time to leave. We spent less than an hour in the restaurant. There will not be a...
Read moreWhat an unexpected treat! I had a “horseshoe” Philly cheese steak. Now - I didn’t know what this was - but these locals from this nice small town of Springfield, Illinois taught me something. It’s basically an open faced sandwich, covered in waffle fries and smothered in cheese sauce. I sure wish I thought to grab a photo, because for how it looked versus how it tasted were totally different emotions. Aside from the filling, and delightful dining experience - this small town diner was right on the money. Looking at the rest of the menu, a solo person can eat for around $10-$15, and I don’t mean a small appetizer. The meals were big, the neighbors (Excuse me “other customers”) were kind and thoughtful, and the service was not only friendly but they were fast! Honestly, it hit the spot, and again the service...
