Coplin's Family Diner — Restaurant in Grant District

I stumbled upon this hidden gem while trying to find a coffee shop one morning. I was visiting family and stayed at the Casino hotel near by. The woman at the front desk of the hotel didnt know of any coffee shops, but mentioned a 7-11 was the only place around. FALSE! Coplin's diner caught my eye across the street...so i called, while waiting in the 7-11 parking spot, to see if they do coffee and food to go. Jackpot! (Get it? The casino reference?) Anyway, I walked into this quaint hometown diner and couldn't have been happier.

Amazing home cooked breakfast, hot and fresh coffee and dont even get me started on the incredible hand made pies. Overall delicious!

First thing you notice when you walk in is a stand AC unit vented through the celling with part of the roof tile falling off of it. Disgusting. Second thing the silverware was disgusting. Third and final straw the complete lack of customer service. We came in at 1038 with at least 5 tables ahead still had not been served of us in order process. We asked to order lunch and were told we can't order lunch until 11am.... So we placed a breakfast order. Over an hour later we asked for a ETA on our meal at 1130 as we had to a delivery we need to be out the door by noon. We were give the oh, it's next up. Over 20 mins later we decided that we were leaving paid for our drinks and without eating. We left.

If I could give this establishment no stars I would.

Would not recommend you waste your time take the extra 7 min drive down...

WELL DON'T EVER ORDER ANYTHING OFF OF THEM . I WENT LAST WEDNESDAY WITH MY MOM AND DAUGHTER AND ORDERED A PIE TO PICK IT UP TODAY CUZ I'M ONLY OFF ON WEDNESDAY AND WEEKENDS SO CALLED TO PICK IT UP AND THEY SOLD IT I MEAN REALLY WOULD OF BEEN NICE TO LET ME KNOW U WERE GONNA SELL IT. THEY TRIED TO SAY I DIDN'T TELL THEM A DAY YES I DID HAD TWO WITNESSES WITH ME SO NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! NOT TO MENTION THE AC WASN'T WORKING IT WAS SO HOT IN THERE TOOK FOREVER FOR OUR FOOD...
