Country Café on Main — Restaurant in Grantsburg

The first time, the food was cooked VERY well. Portions are generous. (Still are). Thought we would try again and this time try burgers 🍔. It is a Sunday, Valentines day, to be exact. There was no pink in the middle of burgers. Menu says medium-well. They where dry, unfortunately. Also, a Patty Melt has STANDARD ISSUE GRILLED ONIONS. There wasn't an onion to be had. My patty melt was onionless and meat over-cooked to well. So, you would be correct in assuming my sandwich was dry. Had to eat it with ketchup. 😖 When I called, the girl was nice and apologetic. Offered as a recourse....to come back in right away. At -27 degrees, I wasn't going back in for onions when my family is already eating. The 2 women that I saw in the kitchen, when I picked up the food, looked like they where busy in a conversation. I assume to busy to remember my onions and pull the burgers off at the correct time. Such a shame....wont be...

While I was in town helping family we ordered breakfast from the country cafe. 4 of us had eggs Benedict. The portions were huge and it was all sooooo good. A few days later we ordered omelets and those were huge as well with a ton of meats and cheese. Our family asked the Country Cafe if they could cater food for 250 people and they did an amazing job. Everything was so professionally done. The food was awesome. We had friends and acquaintances commenting on the meat balls that were made and the pulled Pork sandwiches! So good! I would definitely recommend Country Cafe! Great job and thank you to the Country Cafe for taking such great care of us during our two week stay...

Im saddened to post this, but i don't know what has happened in the last year or so when it comes down to their Biscuits and Gravy, their recipe is nothing ay all to brag about. The gravy was more of a white jelly paste with only a couple chunks of pork sausage and seasoned heavily with pepper and the Biscuits were burnt on the bottom. I've ordered this in the past and it was edible, but not this time. If I hadn't got my order to go, I would have returned it for something else. Other than that dish, I've heard the food is excellent. Great pumpkin pie... My service was...
