Lattes are $8+. Prices have gone up in a bizarre way. Going from $6 something to now officially $8.24… im a bit shocked. If you have a dairy substitute oat or almond milk they will charge you another dollar.. so you’re looking at $9.24 for a large iced latte in some cases! Wowzers something brewing! Even in downtown Chicago I’ve never purchased a large iced latte that comes out to that price. No seasonal latte.. no special milk… just a caramel latte for $8.24. The treats looks so delish but every time I get one.. it’s hard. So I stopped with the pastries esp the muffins.. rock hard. This place has gone down hill. Ladies are grouchy and not welcoming, esp the owner herself. Smile? I don’t know, be a kind human and not act like you’re miserable and your costumers are an inconvenience/ annoyance to you? My neighbor without even mentioning how I felt, told me the “staff is rough around the edges.” I very much agree. Also, my $8.24 latte gets messed up half the time… putting whip cream on it or simply mixing up hot and cold, what if someone has diabetes or allergies? Unprofessional staff. Tables are mostly ALWAYS dirty w crumbs or sticky mess, like McDonald’s table vibes. Just blehh experience and done w the costumer service, the pricing and overall experience. Been coming here for years and finally done after constant disappointment. Would rather go to Starbucks...
Read moreI stumbled upon this coffee/ brunch spot when I was getting ready to take pictures of a listing. I thought I'd pop in real quick, grab a coffee and a snack and be on my way. But boy was I wrong. There are some people who have their go to order no matter what coffee house they go to, simple croissant and black coffee kind of people, easy and classic. And then there's people like me, who take the time to study the menu and explore where all the possibilites could lie, scoping for unique and usual flares that could ignite new flavor possibilities. If you are the latter, this place is going to take you awhile. They have endless options of baked goods made daily, assortment of breakfast options as well as lunch, and they serve all of them throughout the day. And to top it off a giant list of coffee and tea options and then rows and rows of truffles. Good luck. I haven't found anything I didn't like. With that said do try: toffee latte or Maui latte, breakfast croissant sandwich, whatever the keto breakfast option was with sausage, any of the wraps. Peanut butter cheesecake. Okay.. great...
Read moreAhhhh where to start w the food? Breakfasts & sandwiches are delicious, as is the coffee. The sweets are amazing & I would walk across hot coals for the muffins! I try to give my business to local stores. Also I have recommended this location to many friends. The inside seating area is quite cramped so I usually order to go. My biggest disappointment is the service. I rarely go on the weekends because I know how busy it will be. Sep 19 (Thur) I was there around 12:30 & it was very crowded. Honestly I didn’t mind the wait as the food is worth it. My issue was with a middle aged woman who was @ the cash register. She had a very dour expression & was very brusque w her comments. It’s possible that the lunch rush was stressing her out, but this is not the only time I was treated like that (by her only). As I mentioned, the food is fabulous & all the other employees are very kind & patient. I will definitely go back. Maybe it will be...
