We spent the night in Great Bend and decided we were in the mood for Mexican. So, we tried Los Cabos Fajita House. The parking lot was packed but they were able to get us seated immediately. Service was hit and miss. Our server came by quickly to take our order, and another server brought us chips and salsa. Our food came out quickly. They checked on us immediately after the food arrived. But after I finished my margarita and wanted some water it was a long wait before I could flag down our waitress. And after the bill came, we waited quite a while for our waitress to pick it up before we gave up and went to the cash register to pay. Regarding the food, the salsa had great texture, not chunky and not too runny but a nice slurry. However, it would have been greatly improved with cilantro. The chips were fine, a little greasy and a bit broken up, but they hit the spot. House margaritas were yummy. For entrees we ordered the pork fajitas and the El Dinner. It had a chalupa, a taco, an enchilada, a burrito, a tamale, a chili relleno, beans and rice. The fajitas were a major disappointment. Bland. A total lack of flavor. That never happens with fajitas, right? Did they forget the salt? The seasonings? The beans were great. The rice was fluffy. But the fajitas were so bland nothing could make up for it. I used all the salsa we had left to try and give them something. My partner thought the El Dinner was OK. Filling and decent. We will definitely try somewhere else if we return...
Read moreWe waited about 10 minutes to get waited on and having 2 small children was a long wait! When our orders came, everything was cold….even the fajitas! The waitress didn’t wait around to see if we needed anything she just left and I had to flag her down for silverware, she brought 4 place setting….there were 5 of us and she asked if we all needed some and was “put off” by having to get another set! I did not receive what I ordered, told her it was cold…that everything was cold and since I was the last one to get my silverware and everyone else powered through to eat theirs she sent my burrito back to be re-heated….waited another 10 min. for my burrito to return , she never asked if we needed refills nor came back to check on us! The only time she came back was to drop off our ticket and she left the table immediately! The salsa tasted like tomato juice with no flavor. Not satisfied at all! Getting into the parking lot with a handicapped person to get halfway near the building was like walking through land mines! Potholes everywhere, glass and garbage scattered throughout the parking lot too. Not too wheelchair friendly inside the restaurant either. People had to get up and move so we could wheel him into the area we...
Read moreClean, festive, friendly service...and the food - magnífica! I ordered the burrito loco - carnitas & grilled onion on the inside, chorizo & jalapeño crema on the outside, and wowweee! The chorizo was not greasy but super flavorful & some of the best I've ever had! (I think they make it there.) Hubby enjoyed the daily special, pineapple chicken tacos. The salsa bar is fabuloso, so many deliciosos choices! We both ordered frozen margarita/sangria blend but they were out of red sangria!! So hubby got frozen margarita & I got the frozen margarita with white sangria. Only problem was they must have been using the machine a lot that Friday night, as our "frozen" drinks were not, but still tasty. Our server was friendly and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A huge MUCHAS GRACIAS to the Navy Veteran & his wife, "Friday night regulars" who, unbeknownst to us, paid for our entire meal from one Navy Vet to another (my husband, who did 28 years as a nuke submariner, flew jets off carriers and flew helos!). They didn't even know that but their kindness and military brotherhood will be paid forward!! Wado...
