Come here for the true Montana ranchers' choice! My medium basted eggs and extra crispy hash browns came out perfectly, and when I requested my English muffin with extra butter, they added the extra butter directly to the muffin while it was still hot so it melted into all the nooks and crannies just the way I like it. The sausage link was MASSIVE, and the bacon covered half the plate. Oh, let me tell you about this plate! It's not your standard dinner plate. No, this thing is an oval platter like you would expect to see under a turkey at Thanksgiving dinner.
I've learned my lesson for my next visit, to ask for my bacon to be a little bit crispier. It was delicious just the way it is; I simply prefer to eat it with my fingers so I like it just a touch dryer than the way it was served today. (I didn't think to specify as such ahead of time and it was already so delicious that it didn't need to be sent back for any special treatment.)
When I asked for maple syrup for my coffee, my server brought out real maple syrup and specifically asked if I wanted that or the maple-flavored pancake syrup. Yum! I was honored to be offered real maple syrup, and I told her so.
The best part (which is saying a lot, because the food part of this experience was pretty close to perfect) was the ambiance. The mural painted on the wall claims that this restaurant was established in 1978. I dined to the sounds of patrons (who were clearly regulars) and my server interacting as if they have known each other for several years (which they probably have). I sat next to the wall which separates the kitchen and "employees only" area from the dining area, and I kept overhearing snippets of conversation that discussed the ranch, guests in the bunkhouse, putting on a pot of coffee, and plans for how to feed the crew that will be present for branding this weekend.
Will Rocky Mountain Oysters be on the menu this next week? I sure hope so. I aim to go back again and find out.
UPDATE: I'm back again on the following Monday morning. (Friday was the only other time I've ever been here.) I haven't heard yet how branding went last weekend, and I don't see Rocky Mountain Oysters listed as a special. My server did remember that I like maple syrup in my coffee and brought it out to me before I even had the presence of mind to ask. (You see, I hadn't had my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was mislead by the 4.8 rating on Google reviews. I don't usually leave negative reviews but I feel the record needs to be set straight. This is a 2.5-3 star restaurant at the most. The first morning I brought my sister. The fried potatoes were so burnt my sister wouldn't eat them. I like my potatoes extra crispy so I didn't mind. Still persuaded by the reviews, the next morning, I took my Son. He opened the breakfast burrito and said right away the eggs were raw. I did not believe him and said , "no Son it is probably just cheese. He took a bite and then he would not eat any more. I opened the other half with my fork and sure enough the clear gelatinous egg oozed out. I said, "wow it is really raw." My son said "and thank you I already took a bite." I said it's not gonna kill you Son, Hulk Hogan had me and your Aunt convinced to eat raw eggs when we were young for good health." Anyway, I should have listened to my sister the first time and just went to Applebee's but I was fooled by the Google and thought I should...

While passing through on a road trip I was so impressed by everything here! Very unassuming from the outside but inside was packed with locals the server knew by name. She was so friendly and accommodating. She refilled our coffee 3 times and offered a 4th!
The food came within 10 minutes of ordering and it was SO delicious! The potatoes were seasoned and cooked to perfection, the toast was high quality, the breakfast burrito was delicious and she had salsa, tapatio, green sauce or chalula! The bakery items are baked fresh and so decadent.
A lady came in and said she was referred there because they have the best fish and chips in town: perfectly crisped. The server said they bread them every Friday. I wish we could stay for lunch!
The price was impressive. Two breakfasts and a pastry to go...
