Alexions Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Green Tree

This bar is a very inviting place to get a drink, have a meal or to just go watch a game and be around good people. The food at Alexions is good and they have a food special every day. Their chicken wings are always really good and they are on special Tuesday and Thursday. You cannot go wrong by getting some wings and an order of fresh cut fries, they are consistently good. The hand breaded fish sandwiches are also worth ordering, make sure you get it on the freshly baked italian bread! This place can get a little crowded during lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Just shows you that the food and drink specials are worth going for. This is by far the best neighborhood bar in the area. They have a large draft selection and it rotates often enough that each time you go in, there is bound to be a few different beers on tap. They have all female bartenders here which never hurts, at least for me. The bartenders and servers are very nice and will always remember you if you show up a few times. Last week my wife and I decided to go out for a bite to eat and a beer. Prior to the Pandemic, this was one of our favorite little places to go! Its been about a year since we've been there and we were excited to go because we love the "bar food" and they always have a good rotating beer selection. One thing we noticed right off the bat of walking in was the smell. There was a musty smell that was hard to ignore. It was like a dirty dish towel/old oil in the fryer smell! My wife suggested maybe we go somewhere else but I said lets just stick it out and enjoy a beer and some of their delicious wings. Now to the point. The place NEEDS CLEANED!! Service was great, food was great, and of course the beers were thirst quenching! The bathrooms were a bit nasty, the tables were sticky and that smell I referred to earlier in the post never seemed to leave our minds. This is a great little spot if your in the area. I'll start by saying that I've been going here since the late 80's and have always enjoyed the food and friendly service until today. I went in to simply buy a $50 gift certificate for a friend's birthday gift who drives from Canonburg with her husband every Friday since I recommended Alexion's to her. Upon asking the server/ bartender for the gift certificate, she stated that she didn't know where they were. After sensing my surprise, she began searching and within a few seconds seemed to find them behind the bar in what appeared to be a booklet of them in $10 denominations. As I pulled my wallet out she said, "This is the WORST time!" Astonished, I remarked that if this was the worst time to just forget it. Her response..."Are you sure?" I walked out, angrily. I'll give my friend the $50, share my story with her and then she can spend it wherever she likes. I would never tell anyone not to go here as I'll be back, just never on a Monday at 1pm to buy a gift...
