First of all, I should have known better than to go to a Thai/sushi bar in Greeneville, TN. Secondly, there was no one else in there when we went in at 12:30 on a Thursday afternoon. There's nothing impressive (or Asian) about the interior either, and upon entering, a teenage girl told us to sit where we wanted to- easy enough, since it was completely empty.
She brought us menus and took our drink order, and seconds after she left a very young (maybe 5 or 6) little girl ran up to my 9 month old baby and scared him. I'm assuming she belonged to one of the owner's- who was sitting at a table in the back with her head laying down on the table. The little girl didn't speak to me or my friend but poked and stared at my son. It was odd. I looked back over at the table where the woman had been resting and she was gone... My friend finally asked a waitress to take the girl back to her people. I'm not a child-hater, but it was weird and I didn't know her, and really didn't want her lingering awkwardly around my son while we ate. That doesn't make me a bad person, right?
Moving along, the waitress brought us our drinks and we had a couple questions about the menu, to which the waitress couldn't answer. She wasn't at all knowledgeable about the menu, what kind of salad dressings they had or anything, really, that would help. Left to our own devices, we chose items that, for a Thai restaurant, you would think they couldn't mess up.
I ordered a spicy tuna roll that was not spicy, but VERY fishy. I've eaten good sushi before, and this was awful. My friend ordered the spider roll was tasted better but wasn't at all what I'd had before, either. I also ordered Sweet and Sour chicken. It was breaded meat heavily saturated in a tangy sauce. After the sushi, though, I wasn't expecting a miracle.
Their service, while friendly, wasn't up to par with a "real" restaurant, The food was barely mediocre, but edible if you're starving. DO NOT order the sushi. In fact, I would bypass this restaurant altogether. You're better off just hitting the gas station Wendy's...
Read moreThe food took quite a while to serve and some dishes took much longer than others even though it was for the same table. The boba was much too sweet and I understand blending up the ice but the tapioca pearls too? The whipping cream just made the sweetness worse. I ordered the pad thai and the noodles werenât the usual kind in pad thai (which wasnât an issue I suppose) and was wayy to salty only made worse by the classic oiliness of the dish. The combination of these two was awful as you couldnât quench the saltiness with the too sweet boba as it would make you dizzy and nauseous. I tried a few of the other dishes and they were all much too oily and salty. Based on observations of the place while eating, if you have a group of more than three people around lunch time, you would have to stand around and wait if the larger was recently vacated or wait longer if itâs in use as the restaurant doesnât have many larger tables. Overall, it was okay, just not what I would call âgood.â Disclaimer: This is not a hate review, Iâm simply stating my experience and some simple suggestions and sorry if this came off too harsh. I am asian so no not some...
Read moreGuys... this Thai food is no joke! I have had it once before as take out but decided to dine in this time. Very clean. I had the Thai Coffee (comes iced). Thai coffee now has a special place in my heart. 10/10 We also ordered the ginger tea. Also delicious! For an appetizer we had the spring rolls. Definitely not frozen - with that crunch it had to be made in house. The sauce paired with it was great. For entree we had the green curry (tofu option)(curry was way more green than I'm used to seeing but it was delicious) and TomYum soup (chicken option)(also great). Everything was delicious and the portions were big enough to serve as another meal later (maybe even two) The total was $42: 2 speciality drinks, an appetizer, 2 large entrees. The value matched the price in my opinion Great service. Friendly staff. Definitely...
